Obviously the game sucked but did anyone else wonder...

Why the F*ck couldn't anybody fix the terrible feedback from the ref's mic? How hard can it possibly be to test that out before the game? Or fix it at the half? The rest of the PA system worked fine, but every time the ref turned on his mic, it went into space echo feedback and no one seemed to care enough to try to fix it.

Much hype for the "Light Up Bobby Dodd" cell phone stunt at the end of the 3rd quarter. When the lights went down, we had our phones out, the app pulled up (and although they referred to it as the "Yellow Jackets App" there is no such thing, it's "Georgia Tech"). It just kept saying "waiting to sync" but nothing ever happened. Did it work for anyone? Again, technology fails at Tech.

Why give out white pompoms when the opposing team is wearing all white? Yellow would have been better. And why did one group of cheerleaders have one white pompom and one red one? Seemed odd.

Also what happened to the fireworks show after the game? I left shortly after the game ended, but I never saw or heard anything on the way out.

I did have to laugh though, when walking by the KA house after the game, they were blaring REM's "Everybody Hurts". In that moment of sorrow I briefly wondered how my life would have turned out had I gone to Athens instead of Tech.

Fireworks didn't happen. My son wanted to see them so we stayed. Sat for 20-25 minutes. No PA announcement. Ushers had to tell us. Disappointing experience all around. Hopefully Batt can turn things around.

I heard from a friend that stayed for fireworks that they were cancelled due to “unforeseen circumstances.” Yeah, like losing to ööööing UVA and having everybody leave immediately after the game in a mix of anger, depression, and confusion.

They did test the ref mic pre-game, I dunno why we can’t figure that out. I also don’t know why the ACC sent that same ref crew back to BDS after they were almost lynched a week and a half ago.

The production crew went all-in on Key this week, with a Buzz skit in which a giant key featured prominently and a “look how awesome Key is” video on the Jumbotron. Unfortunately, by that point in the game, all the goodwill built up the prior 2 games was long gone.

Wouldn't be surprised if Thursday night crews are determined before the start of the season. It's one thing to not know where you're going/when you're working until the week before for a Saturday game; quite different for a midweek game since a lot of officials have other jobs.

Yeah.

Audio is bad overall. Sometimes it is fine but a lot of feedback, level changes and just not good.

The light show was super disappointing. Is that really the best they can do? Just talking about the main lights and video.

The light show ask you to use your cell phone. It probably would look assume if everyone did it and it worked as intended. The problem is the app requires Wi-Fi and WiFi (cell service) sucks at Bobby Dodd. So they ask for something that has no possibility of working.

They need to come up with something that only requires the light. Everyone knows how to turn on their phone light.

For watching football, BDS is great. Great sight lines and you are super close to the field. But most everything else is either bad or meh.

It was an awful experience last night. Uninspired game with few fans. Not sure what they did with wifi, but the visitor version wouldn't/didn't work all game. Mic was a bad deal with the screeching/squealing speakers, not sure about that 3rd quarter deal and how they f'd that up, they slammed exit gates shut early so the few of us that stayed to the end had to walk around inside to get to parking lots, etc. They kept cutting the band off, but started taped music too late and that got cut off too. Just overall pretty sorry. I guessed correctly that fireworks were cancelled when I didn't see any tubes staged in the southwest stands where they ran the fans off in the 4th quarter so we left. Unfortunately, we headed west to get out because that's where we parked last night and had to uturn and walk back thru stadium to get out as those gates were closed. Guess that was due to the fireworks. The rug got painted though so it didn't look like dwag öööö. That was an improvement. Feel sorry for Batt, but he hasn't inked the deal yet. Hope he doesn't quit before he starts.

On the fireworks, they never made an announcement during the game; they should have been regular announcement if they wanted people to stay.

After the game was over but not immediately, they put up text on the big board that said you had to move away from the south endzone seats for the fireworks show. Well, the only people in the entire stadium were some of the students, the band, a few GT fans that wanted to see fireworks and the UVA fans and team celebrating in the South Stands.

They never made an announcement so the UVA fans probably didn’t know they were supposed to move.

Then the band left. So what would be the point of a fireworks show for the few hundred fans left in the stadium.

They made one announcement during the game. Don’t remember exactly when, sometime in the middle. Basically said the south end zone and section 101 would have to relocate to the east stands.

The fabulous Tech administration thought this game was the annual white out. :eekfacepalm:

The squad with the pink Pom poms are the Goldrush dance team. They are always dressed different than the “cheerleaders”. Pink for breast cancer month

It's crappy to not do fireworks. They advertised during the game that it was going to happen. I understand it being a slap in the face to some adult fans after an embarrassing game... but some families and younger fans stuck around to see them. It is a joke for them to be cancelled without making it clear to those who stuck around.

Every third down on defense there was an ungodly shrieking from the speaker to interrupt the band. Sounded almost like a bagpipe.

I tried the light show a few years ago when they first introduced it and it didn't work. I've since deleted the app as it has no use. They should require you to download tickets through app if they want you to use it in game.

I actually liked the light show at the beginning of the game so that is one positive.

Yeah, I agree. The pre-game light show was good.
