I suppose 3 TD passes against Jax State is a bad day of passing? He's only played two games since Tennessee.

Jax state was nowhere near as good in coverage... It wasn't a bad day, if that was your takeaway from what I said. Don't misinterpret my post, though, we've got areas where we can improve and none of those areas are related to ability. Just focus and, to a certain extent, experience. This may end up being the best offense of the CPJ era if they can clean up the mistakes.
 
To those bringing up the line as the reason the plug and play is working so well, well that's exactly my point. everything's clicking

If we could hit those wide open first down throws we'd be dominant.

Ah gotcha. Agree. I'd like to see the freshman BB Howard get in there too. Kid has some solid skills. I hope he isnt in the doghouse because of that fumble, though. He's not the only one who fumbled.

I think Marshall is the biggest difference over last year. His big play potential is higher than JT because Marshall is more elusive. He's not as fast as JT, but he's way more elusive.
 
One thing that I am enjoying about the offense this season is that Taquon and the trailing A-back are carrying out their fakes at full speed. Nesbitt, Washington, Lee, and Thomas had a bad tendency to slow down and look back at the line of scrimmage after handing off to the B-back.

One thing that disturbs me about the offense this season is that it seems Taquon sometimes lofts his pitches to the trailing back. While the timing of the pitch is as sharp as I've seen it, it does seem to float at times. I get a lump in my throat every time.

I think he's right though. Marshall may have even more escapability than JT had. I'm not sure he has quite the same straight line blazing speed that JT had though.

JT was a lot more mobile in '14 than '16 though. It'll be interesting to see how Marshall holds up over the season.
