Really? I don't see any losers with their heads photoshopped on player's bodies.

The same exact thread is on the hive but with explanations for each of the ratings.

Obviously you should be looking in the mirror when you talk about losers.

5/8.5/5.5/5/8/8.5/8.5/6.5
Special teams 5

These are actually very good scores. John Elway, Dickerson & James (or Mitchell & Franco), the Nebraska line with Steinkuhler... those are 10's.

5 is a standard unit of a .500 team.

Don't know the game this year but I'm bringing Dean Steinkuhler to the flats this year. His daughter is going to Med school at Emory.

Since when have we been a .500 squad? Our overall recod has not been .500 since....I'm not doing the research, but it's been a while.

I am not a high grader. I think running back and front seven on defense is where we are very strong. I think that QB, WR, DB, and ST's, particularly return issues, are our question marks. We are not weak anywhere.

ST- 8.5

RB/FB- 9.0 (ACC leading rusher)
WR/TE- 8.0 (?? right now, but should strengthen considerably when some of the younger guys get the feel for the college level. Once the TE is more involved, the WR's will strengthen.)
OL- 7.5 (OL will do more straight up blocking for a pocket QB. They will most likely be a little undersized compared to some of the factories (UGA/VPI/ETC.). Should still be strong this year)
DL- 8.0 (Strong as usual)
LB- 8.5 (Always a strength)
DB- 6.5 (According to the practice reports this number could go up once the season starts and we see them in action)
QB - 7.0 (this is a ? - anyone's argument can be right - except BeeBad's)
ST- 5.5 (Above 5 due solely to Brooks. KO coverage is big downside. Bell needs some consistency as well.)

We've been to a few bowls in a row. I was just defining what I think a "5" is calibrated to be in my mind, and what a "10" should be. I am very happy that we (in my mind) do not grade under a 5 in any area.

John, that's awesome! I hope to run into the two of you before a game. Dean and Dave Rimington could flat out bring it.

That was funny as hell. AFR is a good guy though.

I like BOR's rank, but I'd knock QB down to a 7 even, maybe lower due to lack of quality depth. That said, it's a far cry better than the 4 I'd have given us last year at QB.

let me give it a try...

QB: 7...Tater will be steady, and thats all he needs to be, look for Nesbitt to have 3-5 plays a game. Booker is capable if Tater goes down.

RB: 9.5 ...you cant give out perfect scores, but this group is very close, TC will get close to Ivery's single season record, and Dwyer is gonna be a 3 year starter, Evans may redshirt along with Jones. Grant is going to be heavily involved this year.

FB: 9.5 ...Cox is one of the best in the country and probably will get more touches this year, Kelly is also very capable.

WR: 7 ...This is an area I think by the end of the year will be as deep as running back, we have A LOT of talent here, Donley will be on the field and by the end of the year him and Bebe could be one of the best duo's in the ACC goin into next season. White will probably redshirt, JJ should be solid and Smith is starting to catch on. Earls will be the burner on the underneath routes. Clyburn will be a name to keep an eye on starting in 2008.

TE: 5.5 ...Depth is the issue here because Peek and Barrick have talent, once Colin gets on the field I think he will start being one of Taters favorite targets.

OL: 9 ...One of the best in the country as a unit, not great individually, one of our upperclassmen could end up losing his job if he doesnt step up, great depth.

DL: 9... Depth is great, Morgan will probably play, Peters will probably redshirt, MJ,Robo, and Oliver will all see plenty of time and Oliver will shift inside on passing downs. Richard should return to form and Walker is looking to have a big year.

LB: 8... Talent is not a problem, experience is...Wheeler will be on most peoples all american team, Guyton might just end up the leading tackler on the team- hes ready im not worried about him, Bowen will be the starter come ND but AT will be on the field a lot, by the end of the year it might be his job- he has more upside then Wheeler did. We need some of the younger ones to get on the field this year to help out for next season, Tongo is gettin healty again and should contribute as well as Chambers.

DB: 7.5 ...Safety will be a strength with Lewis and Djay, if Djay keeps up with the injury bug that always hits him then Burnett could be called upon and he is looking very good...CB, again there is talent but not much experience, Jahi has come ready to play so far and hopefully can step his game up this year, Avery should be solid nothin spectacular, Reese might get some PT and Clark will be there as well. The return of Gaston should help some especially in the Nickel situations and special teams.

ST: 8 ...Why you say? A little high? No way, we have the best punter in the country, a senior field goal kicker who looks like hes ready for the season, and drum roll please...DEPTH! This was the big issue before with kickoff team and this year wont be, look for MJ, Barnes, Burnett, and Gaston to lead the way here, plus maybe a new person kicking off, Walkon Blair has a serious leg...i think the return teams will be better, Dwyer will probably be the man on kickoffs along with Earls, punt return is still a toss-up, im partial to Tyler Evans here, hes a north-south runner with good hands.

It will be interesting to see how the year turns out and then see these rankings after the season...
