re-rank of every team

Someone please explain to me how we are #30 while Duke is #22.

Duke and GT have one loss to a team ranked lower.

GT played 3 top 20 teams and won one. Duke played two top 20 teams and lost both.

And we beat Duke.

There is no reward for playing a tougher schedule.

Most people look at the win/loss record and judge with no other data.

I checked the AP and coach's polls yesterday morning to see how many "also receiving votes" we picked up and felt like a kid at the circus that somebody grabbed his big circus lollipop, threw it in the dirt and stomped on it. I almost started a thread but figured there was enough things to be pissed off about so held off. So when I saw this thread, figured I'd go ahead and ask.

I mean, wtf.

I sort of kind of understood when we broke out the UATW logo earlier this season.

Now, I actually unambiguously completely understand.

Because it is a poll made by dumbasses, most likely.

ESPN FPI has us at 38 and Duke at 54.

Here's the final FPI ranking of our schedule.

Don't most people on here constantly deride and mock what Espn does and says? Why suddenly is that the reputable source? Oh, bc it's in our favor. Cool, I'm good with that.

FPI has proven to be generally better than most alternatives at making predictions about the outcome of college football games.

The only part of that model I would question is Louisville at 13th which feels a bit too low (but maybe it's me and I should give them more respect).

Man, that Syracuse loss stands out as one we'd like to have back. Everyone else we lost to is pretty respectable.

Putting aside the game in Athens....... Playing a cupcake (instead of ND). And picking up one of the U of L / Cuse / VT road losses.... and this season had a shot to be most memorable since 2014. We could have been in the mix for CFB At Large, like Miami is now.
