Realistic Bowl Outlook

LOL...after that near disaster, we'll be lucky to win anymore games this year. That was Wake's 4th string QB. 4th STRING!

He may have been 4th on their depth chart, but he's the best QB they got. If they let him play, he's another Russell Wilson type player.

Completely agree. He barely got 100 yards. Grobe didn't put him in the position to throw picks or get sacked. It was mainly dink dunk passes. If you are going to wig out about the game, wig out about the fact that Duke scored 42 points on Wake, not about the defense.

Well, the play that sticks out to me is a pass on the flats to the RB. For whatever reason, the RB beat Jefferson, turned the corner and made a big play out of it. There was also the play where the TE got wide open because one of the LB's blew their assignment.

Most of the issue is still with the DL and the LB. The defense did only allow touchdowns after turnovers, but even with the turnovers a team like Wake shouldn't have sniffed 17 points.

He's no Russel Wilson. But if he played against us every Saturday, he'd have Russell Wilson's numbers.

Since when do those numbers I posted get you into the hall of fame?

Use your brain here.

Ummm...Nesbitt puts up the same numbers or less every week and he's our number one. Plus, there guy didn't even play the whole game. We made him look a lot better than he is. There's a reason he's 4th string QB. He SUCKS!

Can you name our 4th string QB?

Well, to be fair, that was his first game. I saw some special stuff in that kid last night to come in and do that. He's no RW right now, after one game, but he's got some of the same stuff RW has.

Will there be a team from NC that's bowl eligible this year? Yes.

So regardless of where that NC team finishes will we be in Charlotte? No.

Charlotte has #6 ACC pick. NC teams could very well be gone by then.

I'm hoping for the music city bowl and a game against the sec.

I'd really like to go to the Music City Bowl since Nashville is probably the most fun city that we have a chance to go to.

After rewatching the game on the DVR this morning, our problem definitely wasn't the defense - its the offense. We miss blocks like crazy.

Also, I couldn't find several of the penalties called on us during critical plays, so I don't get what is going on with the refereeing.

Bostic is a freakin' burner. We need to get him the ball as much as we can.

This thread looks almost the same as the thread(s) after the Miami game last year. We get Miami at home this year and there's a payback factor that they used against us last year. Our only ACC loss so far is from the other division.

The biggest thing I saw was Nesbitt's passes were hitting our receivers in the hands and quite a few were being dropped until the last TD. That was a bullet and great catch for a TD. One of our receivers got mugged and there wasn't a flag.

I've already renewed my Orange Bowl seats.

In reality, he didn't put up near the numbers RW did.

Our defense didn't do THAT bad. Both touchdowns came off turnovers and Grobe did a good job of not turning the ball over himself.

The issue is that even with the turnovers, the game shouldn't have been that close, and that mainly comes down to offensive production.

This is one instance where crime pays off really well in college ball. Better to take a chance on possibly getting called and giving up 15 yards, rather than giving up a big play and momentum builder.

Guys we barely beat a team that was giving up 40 points a game AND was down to the 4th string QB who was hurt half the game. Keep it real. Let's hope we can get to 7-5 and beat UGA.

If the weather is bad, we could beat Miami. We will not beat VPI, Clemson and probably not UGA.

Why do you guys keep pointing to the fourth string QB as if it matters? Quarterbacks (as a unit) were below 50% for like 100 yards. You're stupid if you think that's the reason GT almost lost.

Great, some have different opinions than you and you are calling them stupid. Great fans you all claim to be.

The 4th string QB gets no reps in practice in August, Sept, et. You normally can assume the team down to the 4th QB will be good for 17 points at most. If we can't go into a game, against a team allowing 40 points a game, and put up 24 easily, then we are in trouble.

Opinions can be wrong. The opinion that 4th String QB Man beat GT is wrong. It's simple.

How many points are scored by GT has absolutely NOTHING to do with who is playing QB for Wake Forest. You guys are insinuating that Mr. 4th String played like Peyton Manning out there.

He completed 9 out of 20 passes for 105 yards. If you wanna try and pin the game on the defense getting beat by a fourth string QB, you are really reaching. The game was extremely poor due to the offensive line and the fumbles.

The defense did their part, allowing only 268 yards

wow, I can hardly wait to play Ark St in the Wennie Bowl with 6-6 record:rotfl:
