Realistic Expectations?

What are you on about? Briles's history would be a big hurdle. OSU has zero hurdles.

Urban was suspended this year and he will not struggle recruiting moving forward although he kept a known domestic abuser on his staff. Art would not have an issue either.

Maybe because multiple championships?

There is a difference in keeping a domestic abuser whom he was supposedly trying to help and may or may not known of the full story and supposedly covering up multiple rapes and sexual assaults for the good of a program, whether he did that or not.

So if you win that stuff doesn’t matter?

Don’t you think if half of what you state was actually correct he wouldn’t pass Tech’s due diligence during the hiring process? If he was our coach his background, experience, and success would only be positives on the recruiting trail. The Baylor BS wouldn’t matter and I even think there is more evidence suggesting wrong doing by Urban then Art. However after a nice news conference and investigation nobody cares anymore and its largely a mute point for OSU.

Next coach acquires an undersized offensive line and no quarterback with the ability to complete a forward pass at present (?come on Lucas). I suspect the next head coach gets canned before he is truly able to install his system simply because of the severe lack of talent he acquires. That is a reality but a sunk cost that must be assumed as soon as possible.

It doesnt matter if you are at the right school apparently, see UNC. If you don't think the bulldog media in GA wouldn't make sure it mattered you are kidding yourself.

He won't pass the due diligence. The Baylor stuff does matter. That is it. He isn't getting an invite to even interview.

Go look at his Wiki page. The summary paragraph ends horribly for him. The rest is down the page, but nobody is going past that summary.

Canadians won't even let him coach one of their shitty teams.

I do agree Urban is probably more guilty.

What pisses me off is when friends come to the game and don't stop at my tailgate for a free beer.

We may not but I do think someone will make that call at a D1 school and he will pass background. Here’s a good article with summary bullet points at the end. I’m obviously a big Art fan but want his son here as well.

Question: does our overall record matter if we keep beating uga about every other year?

No one here would want him fired if we beat them this year.

Oh I’m not so sure about that. Lots of hate here. If that’s the only game we win from here on out, I doubt it matters. If we win 3 and that’s one of them, I’d say he’s safe.

Despite his obvious skills at putting high numbers on the scoreboard and his lifelong reputation as a devout Christian and moral leader of his community, he was ostracized and condemned across this nation and in Canada.

It will be interesting to see what school will overlook his Baylor baggage while simultaneously welcoming the Christian stuff.

Our best shot at winning the Coastal in 2019 or 2020 is to keep Johnson and hope he puts the pieces together. It is not what people want to hear; but it is not that far fetched. This year's team lacks a QB (who in 2019/20 could be Graham who everyone seems high on) and a dependable B-back (who in 2019/20 could be Benson or someone who is bigger). Offensive line play as of right now isn't a huge problem, we'll need new starters at A-back to step up. Defense is beginning to gel and could be above average by end of the year and beyond.

That said, in year 10 we should not be crossing our fingers and hoping our coach can find the pieces to run his system. My biggest disappointments in CPJ have been his ability to recruit a quarterback to fit his system and a B-back. A new coach installing another system needs to be given until 2022 or so before expectations rise.
