Correct, however when looking at the replay I didn't see anything obvious, so it must have been a slight flinch. IIWII.

This season was, and is, about a system & culture change as much as W & L.

Theses players have not stopped fighting like hell in every game. And they won’t.

Any casual observer knows that it would be near impossible to gauge W & L on a team with Sr injuries, the death of a team leader, a move to finally manage a roster, so many frosh minutes of play time, O & D system changes. And all combined at once.

The season isn’t over and we may win more than expected last week or lose more than expected tonite.

The key is the culture of never stop fighting on every down. We will succeed in that regard no matter what.

CGC said post game they actually practiced a KO after an unsportsmanlike penalty in practice this week.

Talk about covering your bases...


EDIT: I think I understood CGC right but sounds like whatever the celebration was it was prepared during the week in order to give the guys a spark.
 
This game reminded me of the uva loss last year. Even when we had the momentum, the uva sideline was pumped. Keeping that positive energy helped them pull out a win last year. We were able to pull the win this year even after giving up big plays.

I’ll take it.

Big difference in the 2nd half when Miami didn’t have ridiculous field position like they did nearly each possession in the 1st.
 
It was an ugly game and the team needed to score in all three facets to win... but it is a conference win! They never game up!
 
Awesome win. It's becoming apparent the team has bought in to what Geoff & Co. are selling because they really were resilient today and even in the second half the past couple of games when they could've hung their heads and quit.

So I think the intangibles are really working out pretty good, and I think we have seen Patenaude start to find his groove in tailoring the offense to our guys' talents. Mason is really good and Brown, Oliver, and Sanders have the makings of a solid receiving corps.

I think Key deserves a ton of credit and the OL deserves it too because it's apparent they're putting work in and getting better. They still had plenty of WTF moments, but the OL had a good day run blocking and did just enough on some pass plays to give Graham time to look downfield.

I'm excited to see if we can follow it up against Pitt. The Coastal is its typical Circle of Suck this season, so I expect a couple of more wins to close out the year.

(a) CDP finally put together a game plan that really seemed to work. Our RB corp is obviously the strength of the team, yet who would've thought we could run the ball so effectively against such a strong run defense? Yet once we saw it would work, we went back to it time and time again. Good job by CDP IMHO, the first time this year he's given me some hope for his future.

(b) What's up with the OL? Seems like the CJP hangover is in full effect... could barely stop a guy on a drop back, but could open up lanes here and there for 6-8 rushing gains. Were we doing a lot of cut blocking? It didn't seem like it to me, but I have an untutored eye.

(c) The second half improvement was again so very marked today – but that means so much more in a competitive game. Don't know what kind of juice we're feeding those guys at the half, but we need to start giving it to them before the game.

(d) Really impressed with the execution on the fake punt. Granted that the Miami guy covering Nate took a down off at the very best moment, but it was a great pass, too. I'm reminded of the 2pt conversion against UNC that was perfectly executed. Good to see that we're able to do the trick plays well.

(e) I'm getting kinda concerned about the discipline/mental aspect of the game. We were playing such clean (penalty-free) ball initially, but over the past couple of games we've had a number of dumb plays that have had a pretty big impact on the game. Today the procedure call when they roughed Pressley Harvin was huge, as was the false start on Brenton King's FG. We were lucky to overcome both of those in the end.

(f) Speaking of kickers, a pretty strong game from both of them, and Wells actually got us a touchback I believe. Obviously we were incredibly fortunate that 2 Miami kickers missed 3 FG's between them, but that kind of stuff cuts both ways and in the end we did what we needed to do to win.

Acknowledging that Miami isn't real good, nevertheless, this was all in the all by far the best game of the CGC era. Miami's not real well coached but they have some real talent and some good playmakers and we battled them as equals.

Let's hope an off week full of the groovy vibes of victory heals us up and gets us ready to finish strong. While I still think beating UGA is a highly unlikely, I don't think any of the remaining ACC teams has looked unbeatable. I realized we're still a pretty bad team, but we showed definitely signs of improvement today.

For the first time since the start of the season, I've got some tangible (non-juice, post-game) hope for the our future under CGC.

I felt like we got screwed in the King kick. Don’t feel like we moved till the ball snapped.

The player was sort of rocking backwards before the snap, like he was losing his balance and falling backwards on his heels. I think technically it was a fair cop.

That said, it was particularly painful since they weren't rushing anyone and so the movement had no effect on anything.

Great team effort today, could not help but think of that Citadel loss. We would be 3-4 with some hope of a bowl but it is what it is.
