"Now, this is called grass, or sometimes, turf. It can be natural or artificial. Those lines are painted on to create what is called a football field.. The field is 100 yards long. The numbers specify the "yard line". The small, brown oblong object is called a "football", but it is usually carried or thrown, not kicked by the foot. These large men are wearing "uniforms" that protect them when the collide together. They collide trying to get and keep the football from the players in the opposite-colored uniforms. If one of the players can take the football down the field and across the "goal line", it is called "touchdown" and the team gets 6 points. Well, that's probably enough for now. Come back tomorrow and we will cover the meanings of "offense" and "defense" and why the players stand in different places on the field with the ball in the middle so many times."
