Every recruit being pivotal

[ QUOTE ]
Every recruit is pivotal with the self-imposed loss of schollys in '05 and '06. Seems like Chan and crew are keeping this in mind with this class.

[/ QUOTE ]

The self-imposed limitation is on signing players each of those two years, if I'm not mistaken. Which means we have limited ourselves to a maximum of 21 in each of the 2005 (this year) and 2006 recruiting classes.

The rub with this, if my information is correct (and I can't 100% guarantee that it is), is that we were not going to be able to sign more than 21 in either of those two years anyway because of the number of players we already have and will be losing due to graduation/end of eligibility.

I'm not saying this to contradict anything you're saying. I'm just adding some more pertinent information.

Re: Every recruit being pivotal

That's the way I understand it as well.

C'mon, we're Tech guys. If we're going to self-impose penalties, we're going to be smart about it. We appease the NCAA by "taking action" but we plan it in such a way that there's no effect on the program (from a scholarship limition perspective). :)

colin peek makes 4 from florida. also, for those that complained about our being outrecrutied in georgia. we have 6 committments from georgia as compared to 5 from the dawgs. with the poor grades of recruits in georgia this year georgia is finding out what we have to go through each year.

Good post Panther, but unless I got some bad figures, we should have 5 from Florida now. The crazy stat that blares in my face however, is the one I posted this morn about how many of the top 40 were committing out of state. I think there are 8 of the top Ga. 40 committing in state. That seems a bit odd to me, what do you think about it?
I would have thought UGA would have been all over some of these guys.

Re: jerk of the board award**

Well CZAR(don't we have a big ego with a name like that),I guess because you don't agree with what I say you are going to start calling me names. From that juvenile comment you are probably 17 yrs old.

Re: jerk of the board award**

AG, You have posted on this board as well as the hive about front liners. Tell me and everyone else what front liners would you recruit that will contribute in the 1st or 2nd year, you know the ones that you don't have to develop,at any position. As far as 17 year olds go, are you 17?

Rick

where have you been ? 17 whole posts, man you are up to date on what has been happening last few YEARS ,I'm sure.If you were then you would know that we don't have any Off linemen ready from 3 yrs ago because we don't have ANY.That's my point in frontliners compared to depth. You have got to have first unit hogs that can WIN before you have depth.
btw- I'll bet you don't even know who was signed 3 yrs ago also- I am older than you.

Re: Rick

AG, untill I retired I never had time to post,Now I do. I have been lurking though waiting to make posters like you explain how you know so much especialy about recruiting OL's and where you got your crystal ball and how you know who will be an impact player in there first year or two. A genious like you only comes around once in a while, you must have been a head football coach or an impact player yourself. Where did you coach or play? You Know, how old you are realy dosen't matter it's what kind of respect you show for others. You AG are the first person I have ever had no respect for on one of the GT boards. Your post are like those of a seventeen year old although most of the seventeen year olds I know have more knowledge than you do about most of what you post.AG, is that to deep for you to understand? The person that said you were the JERK of the board was wrong you are the BIG JERK of the board, got it, DUH.
