Recruiting updates

Were not done just yet. Were after two prospects right now. I've read that we expect to have a couple of scholarships open up.

The two guys we are pushing for

DE Kareem Martin - according to GTland we lead. VT is one of the top teams we are fighting to hold off. Should make a commitment by October.

DE Kony Ealy - lead for him as well. The idea has been thrown around as him playing wolf. But he will play DE (thanks for the info GTland)

Current Commits

Charles Perkins - UGA has been sending him a lot of letters lately. He will gather more offers over his Senior year. He is graduating early to come to GT in January.

B.J. Bostic - also graduating early.

Denzel Mccoy - he has been the guy helping a lot with recruiting. He is after Kareem Martin now.

It appears that all of our commits are solid.
 
McCoy is awesome. I can't wait until he gets on campus. We also need to kick VT's ass in October very hard. I'm hoping they beat Alabama.
 
Thanks for the updates. I know that 300 yards is 300 yards, but I did have a question about Perkins's performance against Parkview. Has anyone ever heard of a guy rushing for over 300 yards and his team scoring 10 points? That either makes it that much better, or something else. Just think it's interesting.

Is McCoy the kid PJ used as an example of why the recruitniks are retards. PJ said one of our recruits, which he couldn't name, was ranked #1 at his position, then fell 50 spots after committing to GT. PJ quipped "He hasn't played a game (since the original ranking), so I know he hasn't gotten any worse."

Yeah, he committed back in the Spring as a Scout Top 300 player with about 40 offers from about every power program you can think of(Alabama, FSU, LSU, ND, Penn State, Miami). Now he's the 47th best DT according to Scout.
 
McCoy is a leader. He's smart, and he's a good communicator. Not to mention he's a heck of a football player!

If I remember correctly, Perkins' team only had about 375 yards total. You know Parkview had be keying on him but apparently couldn't stop him.

I dont know if you did, but did you watch the GT-UNC game last year??

Thanks for answering that. I heard PJ that night and was curious too. I figured it was either McCoy or Perkins.

2 TDs were called back on offensive penalties (holding, I believe).
 
yeah, but that would most likely negate the yardage. it's rare for a guy to go 45 yards and have it called back for holding on the two.
