Reggie's Unsportsmanlike

I didn't feel like we had all that much momentum on 4th and 5 getting ready to punt.

The penalty on Reggie may have been perfectly well deserved, rather than arbitrarily applied by the refs to hinder us.

Considering the officiating up to that point, my dream scenario is Reggie called the ref a c***s***er. Then when the ref reported it to Chan, his response was him thinking, "Yeah, good point, Reggie."
We all know that one never is to call a referee a cock s*cker. :laugher: :laugher:

So, it was a mistake. But you have to love him for it.

Reggie's mouth was dealt with in his freshman year. Chan said if he got bad again he'd handle it. I believe a 15 yard penalty vs VT qualifies as "bad," so does Chan, so I expect it will be "dealt with" again.

I wonder how CCG will deal with that.

I kind of doubt that any action will be taken other than running a couple of extra wind sprints, but then again, it's his wind that keeps him in trouble anyway.

Reggie is in my opinion, a very good athlete with much potential who has a hard time channeling that potential out correctly.

For Chan Gailey, I would also think that channeling Reggie Ball's energy in a positive direction would be much akin to raking water up hill.

Reggie only seems to run his mouth after each play, but it's every play.

Personally, I detest hearing a player do this, but I'm quite sure my opinion, likes, dislikes, etc. are not on top of a priority list for GT football.

The only thing I like to hear at a GT football game are the loud "POP" of pads hitting, the band playing "Up With The White & Gold/Ramblin Wreck Song" and the final buzzer and that steam whistle declaring the game over with a GT win. I definitely like that steam whistle, just wish it were a little louder.

I'm sure Reggie understands this streak of starting every game since his freshman year. If I was Chan I'd tell Reggie that he needs to shut up and that if his mouth causes another 15 yard penalty, his backside will be on the sideline at the start of the next game.

... except UConn last year.

This is not excusing Reggie, but I just rewatched that play, and Reggie was hit kind of late (already down on the ground), and the guy who hit him got up shaking his head (apparently "taunting") Reggie.

Again, not excusing anything he said or did, I just didn't notice that the first time I watched it.

I guess he showed Reggie! If that's the case, I wish RB had just pointed at him and laughed.
