Man, I liked this hire at the time. I like what Clown had accomplished in a short stint at Temple and thought he had a decent shot of revitalizing the Georgia Tech program. Unfortunately, for everyone involved, it didn't work out. First, there was the process of transitioning out of the option offense Tech ran under former coach Paul Johnson. Then there was trying to recruit at the level Tech needed to compete in the ACC while dealing with some of the stricter academic requirements of the school. In the end, Clown never won more than three games in a season and was only four games into the 2022 season when he was shown the door. Grade: F / Original Grade: B+

I drank the koolaid. CPJ's offense had to go or so the thinking. Why the hell didn't we try to rehire O'Leary? Bring back Ralph for a cup of coffee. Put Godsey on the payroll. People would've marched on Grant Field just to tear the goalposts down. But yeah, we did awright with one of the proteges. Brent da man.

So North Carolina was one of the “bigger programs”, but not Georgia Tech? How many championships have they won? Haven’t even won a conference championship in 40 years. öööö UNC.
