Well, there's a lot of unecessary banter going back and forth on this. First off, I used to be on the Insiders board back before I got booted from the Hive all together. I liked the Insiders Board because of the conversation, not because of the info on recruits, although I enjoyed that too. Now I just have a problem with paying a site who booted me off for voicing my contrarian opinion, when people who acted the same exact way but kissed Gailey's ass non-stop were given a free pass. There are more than one poster on the Hive who will flat out make personal insults and infer that your stupid if you say anything questioning Chan Gailey's direction of the team. They have been a part of that board for a long time, and only because they are pro-Gailey do they get away with it. I have no respect for that or the moderators on that board who constantly allow it.
The Insiders board, once you weed through the obvious dumbasses who won't ever question anything about GT's football program, has a lot of very knowledgable posters and participants who do not post on the main board. That was its value to me. To me the rankings of the board as far as overall intelligence levels of the fans when it comes to football went like this: Stingtalk with Insiders board about even, Rivals board, Hive main board, and Buzzoff. Although in my opinion Buzzoff has probably more intelligent posters on it than the Hive main board, their problem is, they have a lot more dumbasses too.
Anyway, I think what gtland was trying to say is that the Insiders board has a list (which they had last year too) that was called "commitable offers list". This list was not compiled from interviews with kids that SAID they had an offer. Those are inaccurate. Kind of like Josh Jarboe saying he has an offer when he doesn't.
The Insiders list is compiled by two guys who talk directly with the coaches and know each week, exactly who has an offer in hand from the GT staff. This list changes from week to week, because one guy who had an offer one week might not have it the next week because someone else committed and took his spot.
That information is privy to those who pay for it. If it turns up on this board, then yeah, part of me is happy to know the info, but I respect the fact that some else worked hard to get that info and got paid for their efforts.
So if Mustang's list is generated from what he can read for free on another site, then great. But if he is taking someone elses premium info and posting it over here, then I'm not going to scold him for it, because I want to read it. But I wouldn't do it, if it was me.
There's this kid who posts regularly on the Rivals premium board named "mikeiscool" who is obviously an excited young GT fan. God bless him for that. But he has a problem with taking information that the owner of the site specifically requests not to be spoken of and then posts it on the Hive mainboard. That's just wrong.
