Remember what it was like to score 8 TD's

I just wanted to say in my opinion of following GT football since around 1960 the years under CPJ were the most fun to watch. That offense was a thing of beauty. Second most fun era was the Billy Lothridge days, the Kim KIng /Leenny Snow/Jim Stevens years were fun to watch, the Ross years were good too. then I think the O"Leary years
The Gailey years could be frustrating but it was fun to watch a lot of those players too. (Calvin, Choice, PJ, Landry, MJ, Vance, Robo, K Mike, Butler, Reis, Tony, Fox, Gathers, Henderson, Smith, Butler, Burnett, DT, Morgan, Dwyer,, Wheeler, Roman Reigns) we had some ööööing beasts from 01-07. Wish we won a few more

Syracuse had the dumbest defensive alignment for that game than I have seen of any tryed agiamst CPJ. Remember these were the days when many coaches had no clue how to stop the triple. They aligned two safeties about 20 yards off the line of schedule. I guess their thinking esd the only passes they complete are deep balls - IDK. But effectively it meant Tech had 10 guys to block 9 and it got ugly.

Not true. The dumbest defensive alignment ever tried against us and the 3O was 2008 by FSU.

It was the one where the two DT cut our center. The two DE were lined up outside the tackles. After the DTs took themselves out of the play, the was literally no one to take the bback. I think Dwyer ran all the way to Grady the first time they tried it.

Unlike Cuse, FSU only used that formation 3 times.

That game was great. Anyone have the picture of the dejected orange mascot hiding from the game?

I also remember getting stuffed by Iowa, Ole Missus, Minnesota, Miami and others. When you get your ass whooped at the LOS the option ain’t going anywhere- just like other schemes. Also, I remember we looked like a monkey trying to hump a bowling ball every time we dropped back to pass. Let’s not pretend like we won every game 56-0 in those days.
A wise man once said, “Just wait until we don’t win good enough.”

Best I could do on short notice. I know the pic you are talking about - if I find it, I'll update

Yea. I remember telling someone on the first drive, “they don’t have a clue how to stop us.” That happened a few times in the CPJ era. There were also a few games where on the first drive you knew we would be in for a long day.
The first time we played Miami in CPJ era was kinda like that too, we rolled all over them

That was one of Dwyer's most impressive games. I remember him just absolutely trucking multiple defenders that night.

Can’t believe a single coaching change took us from winning 56-0 to losing 45, 45, 55-0, 73-7

Thanks Toad.

You have a lot of the fanbase to thank for that also. By time we figure out a West Coast offense the whole country will be back to running the power I.
