Clemson was really good last season, but let's not give them too much credit. We were missing tackles, forgetting who to block, dropping passes, and everything else we could think to öööö up. Pants ööööting L. Around. I don't know if our guys were starstruck or what, but they made some really ridiculous mistakes. Clemson was literally firing their safeties into the backfield at the snap, and we couldn't block even for like 2 seconds to get a pass off because somebody always seemed to forget who their man was. On the rare occasion that we held blocks, we got a long TD pass out of it.
Clemson has more talent than GT and should theoretically win, but I would not be surprised if GT pulls it off. We've got plenty of talent and have done it time and time again in BDS.
Clemson is more talented than all but a handful of teams in the country. CPJ has 64 wins in now his 9th season with us. I'd venture a guess that half of those have come against teams that were "more talented" than us. We're built to beat teams that are more talented. That's the whole damn point of running the option. Toss in home field, short week, and a night game and you've got all the ingredients for an "upset." If you even want to call it that anymore. If you take out 3-9 last year after losing basically the entire depth chart (including incoming true frosh) at AB who knows if we're even underdogs in this game?
