Rodriguez & Co. are down 10-6 to Michigan St. UM had 4th & about 4 inches from their own 17. They call a fake punt and fail. Developing story as MSU takes over at the 13.

I hope the Spartans beat the bejesus out of Michigan. And that's got nothing to do with how big a tool I think DickRod is.

How is that stupid? It goes against conventional wisdom, but it's not necessarily stupid. You only think so because they didn't make it.

Several studies have shown you should just go for it on 4th down all the time and never punt.

True, but if you've got 4th & inches, man up and sneak it. You shouldn't have to fake it, and if you do, snap it to an up-man. The odds go way down if your punter has to run about 10-15 yards to pick up a first down.

Exactly. It's not the fact that he went for it, it's the fact that he went for it on a play that significantly decreases his chances.

It's on the Big Ten Network. :puke:

I wish I could watch it. A Michigan fan I follow on Twitter keeps going on about how Michigan's defense is supposedly making MSU look like a bunch of high-schoolers. But I'm pretty sure the Spartans are still winning.

Gotcha. I didn't see the play to know the details.

Good, good, good. Michigan State has always stricken me as having a Georgia Tech-like situation in that region. Love seeing them beat those ****ers in Ann Arbor.

It's in East Lansing, but those ****ers are getting beat nonetheless.

Really? I've always viewed michigan as the most Tech like team in that area. Better academics, outsiders view them as arrogant about it, etc.

A michigan fan I know offered his cheer for mich st as "Go green and white, can't read or write!"
