Really? I've always viewed michigan as the most Tech like team in that area. Better academics, outsiders view them as arrogant about it, etc.

A michigan fan I know offered his cheer for mich st as "Go green and white, can't read or write!"

I don't mean academically. I mean in the sense that they've got some history, but never really regarded nationally as a big-time school. At the same time, their biggest rival claims to not care about them much as compared to their rivalry with an out-of-state school.

I'll be honest. I was pissed when 790 hired him but he's actually been a very neutral, very insightful addition to their roster and I can't see him staying local for long. He can go to hell for being a mutt, but he's a pretty good radio listen.
