Don't think you'll ever get a perfect match between helmets and jerseys when examined up close.

RB's colors above don't match perfectly, but they are somewhat close. If you pay close attention, some schools with white helmets (Texas, Tenn, Miami, etc.) don't have truly matching white away jerseys in the same sense.

That is true.
 
Most schools with same colored helmet and jersey don't match. It also can depend on the lighting in the photo taken.

It’s often the same color but not the same finish. It may also be the reason a lot of teams went to matte finish helmets.

I'm thinking gold matching gold is never going to work. If we have to match we will need white on white or blue on blue. I don't think the Reggie helmet and jersey are far enough apart that it matters. I love the gold white gold. We should have white helmets, blue jerseys, and gold jerseys to wear at times.

I like the idea of the following:
Gold white gold as standard uniform
White gold white as alternate (no chicken wire)
Gold blue white as alternate

Edit - gold white white is also ok with white white white (as long as it looks likes saints uniforms) for white out.

This is the same gold as the throwbacks I was gushing over before, it's just that the design is horrendous. That's basically all I want adidas to recognize, we have this shade of gold and it's perfect, we just need them to give us a clean, appropriate design to use it with. And consistency in merchandise, but I assume that's something they've understood since before Russell started making football uniforms.

edit: I actually loved the 2008 uniform design at the time, and for a long time afterwards. But I think it was mainly because of my affinity for that shade of gold, I was willing to overlook the fact that these look like arena football-rejects.
