I was just curious....teaser of a headline "reads that he makes his college decision" after visiting GT & liking what he saw athletically/academically. However, I can only guess b/c don't have subscription to read punchline from scout...

Anyone have any information on this guy? Another "flying under the radar type recruit"?

5'6 185lbs 4.5 scout doesn't list us offerring...Maybe he will get a perferred walk-on status perhaps?

Preferred Walk on. He is a great pick up for a walk on. Stud of an athlete. He is very strong and has good speed. I could see him being our kick/punt returner the next couple of years.

Thanks east jacket. And I agree he will be a great return guy. He has blazing speed! Meet him once. Super nice kid!

See Thread: Who are some of the recruits out there?

Macdaddy2 is scouting like a mug !!!

This is an unbelievable pickup for a walk on. I followed high school football pretty closely every week due to my job this past semester, and it seemed like every single week he was making a game changing play.

He was the guy that blocked the last second field goal, or ran back a punt in the fourth quarter to win the game, etc. If you watched high school coverage on any of the local news stations, his name was always called in the highlight for a spectacular play.

My money's on him earning a scholarship here before he is done.

Big heart, good academics and I will be surprised if he doesn't return kicks or punts.

Over the past few years my focus on punt/kick returners has shifted from what they are capable of after they catch the ball to what they are capable of before they catch the ball.

All that speed, quickness, vision, tackle-breaking, make-the-first-guy-miss, north-south stuff doesn't help much when you can't decide whether to catch or fair catch as your eyes dart between the ball and the oncoming defenders 13 times per second.

I enjoyed Kelly Rhino when he played for us. I just never imagined that I'd miss him as much as I still do.

Is it just me or is this guy a beefy 5'6"? 185 at 5'6" is pretty beefy. I read on bbuzzoff that he benches 450? Wow...5'6" with that kind of strength is freakish!

the kid is strong and not heavy. Jamal Anderson type build. If this kid was 5'9" he would be a four star recruit.

For a walk on the coaches are very excited about landing Robbie. They think he can compete at A-back and be a very good returner.

I went to Harrison but graduated before his playing time but I have heard nothing but outstanding remarks about this guy. he will be a fantastic punt returner for us and could take some snaps at a back to relieve the normal crew

If he is a walk on, why are they listing him as a commit with 2 *s. Walk ons don't sign letters of intent do they?

He is a commitment....but not listed as a scholarship commitment on Rivals or Scout.

Preferred walk-on's do not sign LOI's...they do have a different thing they sign but it is not anything that has implications to break.

We had a kid two years ago coming in as a preferred walk-on....and July before fall practice Auburn gave him a scholarship and he went there.

what was his name? Im drawing blanks.

my apologies...must have been tired.

It was Alabama, not Auburn.

His name is Colin Gallagher of Marist.

It was Geoff Collins who came in to mess it up...they told him he would earn a scholarship in the fall if he first came in as a preferred walk-on. This was in late April after he had already agreed to be a PWO at GT along with Scott Blair from Calhoun.

Of course...he did not win the job...he did not get a scholarship...and Geoff Collins is not there anymore.
