Ron Cherry Reffing the NC game!

Even the fools at Fox can't keep track of the downs. UF slams the door on "4th down," then again on the real 4th down. This is teetering on disgraceful.

They nearly fooled me into thinking I had forgotten a play somewhere.

The Oklahoma band dwarfs the ACC officials for epic fail of the game. Pinball Wizard? Really?

At least the refs didn't act like deaf, dumb and blind kids. For the most part, they were pretty good. A couple of curious situations but it didn't hurt anything other than the flow of the game. Where the hell have they have been all season? Maybe they saved their best for last.
For better or worse, this might have been the best officiated game of the whole bowl season. Got to give them credit for the early unsportsmanlike call - situation like this, lots of emotion, better get a handle on it early or Dolphin Stadium might turn into the neighborhood near the Orange Bowl.

Oh, and the PBP guy tonight was terrrribbblllle. Made Doc Walker sound competent. Tonight was not one of Charles Davis' better nights as the color analyst, but he's usually good.

I think Miami was the only game we had Ron Cherry.

When we got home and turned the TV on, the first thing we saw was Ron Cherry and my wife heard me from the other room say "Somebody's going to get ****ed tonight."

Probably could have worded it better.

I thought the big drama was Ford vs Dodge vs Chevy trucks. Chevy's big point seemed to be that they're better than a Dodge 6, Dodges can run through staged fire, and the Ford is not just a truck, it's the NEW F-150.
;)

I hated all of the games that Fox did. Need to get ESPN back into the deal...I would gladly take CBS as well, although they would have been complete UF homers...

Seriously? I can't stand to listen to Davis. I said in another thread that I watched most of last year's BCS action with the TV on mute and he was the reason. He's awkward, he doesn't seem to have anything to deliver other than what you can clearly see on the field and he looks like he just spent the last decade staring at the sun.

FOX - Analysts are terrible; HD picture is garbage

NBC - Beautiful HD; hopefully analysts wouldn't be obsessed with Notre Dame

CBS - HD picture is good; Couldn't handle all of the SEC love

ESPN - Between the idea of an "Andre Wares It Out" segment every quarter and Lou Holtz' Hour Long Motivation Speech Special, I'm already nauseous.

Seriously, what the hell is with this? It's like it's not even an HD picture...it looks like it's just widescreen standard def, like a DVD. It pisses me off to no end because the majority of the time Fox has the Falcons games.

The announcers were pretty awful too, and I usually am pretty easy to please with regards to announcing.

As soon as I saw Ron Cherry during the coin toss my first thought was "If he calls "Giving him the business.." at any point in this game I will die a happy man.:D

Plus didn't Cherry give Tebow his first penalty in like......ever?

Everything about Fox was just cheap, cheap, cheap. I've watched their BCS games and noticed a number of editing or camera errors. They do numerous shots of people in the stands rather than showing different angles on replays.

Although I do wonder if going so cheap is in Fox's best interest. Do ABC's or CBS's better production quality pay off with more viewers?

Dr. Lou is the only reason I even watch ESPN studio coverage. It's a surreal level of sheer stupidity and absurdity. Listening to Dr. Lou is what I imagine hanging out with my grandfather would be like, if I was stoned out of my mind on Nyquil, horse tranquilizers and Chinese pesticide.

FOX is awful. I could go on and on but this is a good way to sum it up - At the start of the BCS championship game they showed OU's band as the team walked onto the field. I couldn't even hear their band, then they cut on a crappy mic that let me sorta hear them for a few seconds, then they cut it off. Awful. Their ability to capture the sound of the games is garbage, their announcers suck, their video is blurry, ugh.

doubt it. Fox pays more for the packages oft times, so will get the better package. NFC has better "team recognition" than AFC, so Fox bid more to get it rather than the AFC--people would rather watch the Boys or the Giants in crappy hi-def than the Texans or Jets in good hi-def.

In a way it is kinda like Verizon -- better service area, but crappier phones (at higher price) compared to a few of the other providers. So get a good phone with not as good service area or get a crappier phone with better service area.
