Rooting for F$U or Miami?

Who to root for in week 1? If Miami wins, they're ranked when we play in week 3 (Miami's second game). If F$U wins, that's one more ACC loss for Miami and a potential clash of unbeatens when we play in week 6.

I think I'll hope they both beat the hell out of each other and FSU comes away with a 1 point victory.

[and no, I'm not overlooking Jax St. or Clemson].

Hmmm... I'll root for FSU because it can only help us get to the ACCCG and I think GT will probably lose to FSU which makes us look not as bad if FSU does well...

But I think Miami wins it.

FSU, only because they're non-division. Personally, I hope that a meteor hits the stadium during the game.

We always have to pull against our division in inter-conference games. Always. 100% of the time. Atleast until they are mathematically eliminated.

I would rather FSU win anyway. Miami is still a young team. I think playing them when they are "down" is better than playing them when they are confident. Just MHO.

+1

...plus I consider Miami my least favorite team in the ACC.

F$U without doubt, I despise the whU on almost ugag like levels. Im not gonna pull one of those 'I like the school, I just hate the fans' things either although they do account for perhaps 75% of my seething hatred. F Michael Irvin, F Ray Lewis, F (insert run of the mill d-bag 'Cane here), Dwayne Johnson is ok, and F Sebastian the Ibis. I often beg for category 3 irony to arrive in South Florida and wash the filth that the University of Miami has become back into the ocean.

four rules:

1) Always pull for GT

2) Always pull for those in our ACC division to lose to those in the other ACC division.

3) Always pull for ACC in out of conference games

4) Always pull for whoever is playing UGA

Rule #4 is a lot higher up on that list for me. It might be #1a.

My wife went to Florida State. If I pull for Miami in any game without a damn good reason, I've got problems.

If I pull for Miami against Florida State, I'm sleeping on a couch for a week. :)

God Bless You KillerBuzz - I literally could not have said it better myself.

my list was not in order...but us winning the ACC is a heckuva lot more important to me than UGA losing to Arkansas.

Sure, IF the ACC matchup means the difference between the ACCCG or not, but not every game means that. Far from it. Duke beating Maryland won't affect our ACCCG chances while a Georgie loss to Ark dang might affect their chances of a SECCG.

And a lot of Georgie fan's obnoxiousness has basis on 10 win seasons. It matters a LOT if we pull out some years with better overall records while holding our own head to head.

FSU. The obvious reason is to say because they're in the other division. Both teams are similar in that they're composed of thugs, but I do have a sister and many friends at FSU (I'm originally from FL). As much as I dislike them, I want them to think they're good when we bust their asses in Tally.

Definitely. They're not in our division, so go ahead and let them beat Miami to help us in our division, then we'll take another ACC win by beating a high-in-confidence FSU at home.
