Roster Updates

We have enough depth right now that there should be no excuse for not fashioning a serviceable if not decent OL. We also have some recruits that are pretty good. Who knows? Maybe one or more of them can find playing time as well.
Like the man said, don’t confuse numbers with depth

We could use Minihan for depth but we aren't really losing anything with anyone else. Barring injury, we should have a decent 2 deep at OL next year.

LT - Leftwich/Pendley
LG - Quick/Vaipulu
C - Minihan/Franklin
RG - Tchio/Pendley
RT - Williams/Green

Could also see Jordan Williams slide down to guard and one of the transfers out to T. I believe we are still looking for one more OL transfer to add a little more depth at T.
I thought Vaipulu was recruited as a center.

Any chance the freshman Gibson sneaks into the rotation somewhere?

what about the defensive line - lets not be like waffle house and put our head in the sand. we need help there.

Or players ratings perhaps as well
We do have some talent at GT

I am leery of those players ratings too.
One of our transfers was the fourth highest-rated lineman at his program, by 247 sports, and did not crack the two deep at all this year. Two guys in his signing class rated lower did and two guys from the class of 21 with lower ratings also were in the two deep.

We do have some talent, yes.
But I am still very leery of just what kind of offensive line we will have.

William Lay is back, I believe.

So basically we brought him in so GTAA could pay for grad school?
From the jump, that's what it sounded like to me, and how it wound up playing out. Nice gig if you can get. Maybe the kid had incriminating pictures of Collins with Morpheus during their time at Temple or something :dunno: .

He had experience with CDP offense and the staff respected the guy. Basically, it was a way to get a senior player to help coach a redshirt freshman (Sims). No one expected him to see the field.

I'm against wasting a roster slot for a position coach, that is what GA's are for. We should save the roster spots for guys who we think can contribute, or {gasp} spend the scholarship slot on a senior walk on as a thank you. As for his "experience" he played in a total of 5 games at Temple, only 1 under CDP with zero passing attempts. Overall, he was 5/17 with 1 TD and 1 INT with all of his attempts in a different offense. If we brought him in to help coach up any of our QB's then I am still glad CDP was fired. Frankly I think your entire post is BS; but based on your posting history I assume it is something you were told by someone in the program and are just relaying the info.

I don’t talk with anyone in the program. That is literally the only reason to have that guy on the roster. He wasn’t going to play. We could have pulled a dozen guys with better measurables of history.
