Does anyone else think our run/pass ration was a little too heavy on the run today? The wide open pass to Roddy was great and I really think we caught them off guard.

IMO I just think we tried to rely on the run a little too much today when we could have passed a little more to keep VT on their toes some. I know we were missing some key receivers but I still have confidence in the team to make catches and Nesbitt made some good throws today. However, the fact that our O-line is crumbling so fast doesn't help the passing game.

I have total faith in CPJ and we are getting better but I'm just wondering if anyone felt the same way

THWG!

I think CPJ wants to throw more, but he's not confident in our protection. I look forward to when the whole playbook is in.

Did you watch the game, or just decide to make a stupid post?

Did you see the number of times we tried to throw but had no protection, so that the play became a run, or do you just not know what you are watching?

Try soccer.

If Thomas suits up in this game, I think you would have seen a much different ratio. It cannot be said enough that his absence limited us in multiple aspects today.

Without Thomas, we only have 1 scholarship WR and he is a True Freshman, so he definitely would have made a huge difference in the passing game, even if just merely from a WR talent standpoint.

Thanks for the input guys.

Except you, Jacketup...wiseass

Well, he might have been harsh, but he was correct. Until our OL gets it's act together we're better off trying to get to the edge with the option.

If Thomas plays at 100% we win. And that's without him even catching a ball. He dishes out incredible blocks.

386 total yds (against a VT defense) indicates play calling wasn't an issue.

We outgained them 386 - 247. wow.

any WR that was considering us before today will have to be quite a man to withstand the negative recruiting. I guess we only need to sign 1 good WR a year and maybe there are that many who just want to come to GT.

A QB running the ball 28 times shows we need to do soemthign more. if runs 28 times vs FSU and MIA, ouch.

We are woefully thin at the WR position...CPJ was working with one hand tied behind his back yesterday.

No, we weren't having trouble moving the ball. We were having trouble with turnovers and stupid penalties. After seeing Greg Smith drop a pass that hit him in both hands, and Josh fail to hit a wide open Roddy Jones one time, and I have to think PJ made the right decision to go heavy on the run today.

It ain't Ralph's offense and it ain't gonna be.

I could follow what CPJ was trying to do. Like he said. "Execution."

Can't disagree with that.

Our problem is turnovers. Past that, we really don't have much problem, in my eyes. They were giving Nesbitt 5 yards on the keeper all game by overloading vs Dwyer and the pitch. When the other team gives you 5 yards a play, you take it.

I agree that you have to take what the defense is giving and that was the QB keeping the ball a lot. Really surprised that Jaybo is not getting playing time to a) give Josh a breather and b) bring Jaybo along when he has to play.

If Josh carries the ball this much every game he will eventually get dinged up and Jaybo will have to play (or Booker). If Jaybo has blown his redshirt, then he needs to be getting snaps.

Not disagreeing with you, but I think we didn't see Jaybo only because of who we were playing. I think we see Jaybo more in games as we improve and when we're playing less dangerous teams.
