Ryan Day needs 13 Mil

Even if the Tech's of the world manage to compete by finding the less-recruited kids, once those same kids become all-ACC, they will transfer to the highest bidder.

These two new rule changes coming at the same time may end up being the perfect storm for the sport's ruin.
Exactly.

The fear that I have is not being able to recruit top players AND losing players who develop into stars or even above-average and then go off to a higher profile program (e.g. the Jahmyr Gibbs situation in perpetuity). We become a farm system of sorts.

Very hard to be optimistic about the future of football at TECH. I was speaking to a TECH athletic dept fundraiser a few weeks ago and he really had no answers to this.

I don't see how college football will be relevant to anyone outside a perennial group of 10 or so schools.

This is just like every new market. Inefficient as hell in the beginning but over time economic equilibrium will establish itself.

No one knows where that is but it won’t be anywhere near Coach Day’s ridiculous assertion of $150k per player per year. He’s playing on everyone’s fear to rachet up donations so he has an advantage.

A smart move if you ask me.
