Sagarin: ACC is the Best Conference

It'll take a few more years of this to change the biases that have been formed (somewhat justifiably) by the SEC dominance in the late 2000s. They were clearly the best conference, although lofty preseason rankings among other factors made the gap look a lot bigger than it actually was. That and UF/UGA/USCe all being really good for a long stretch causing the FSU/GT/Clemson matchups to pile onto the narrative. It's taken 3+ years of ACC playing really well in OOC matchups both in the regular season and in the BCS/NY6 games (5 straight OB wins, 1-1 in title game appearances) to even have us mentioned as an above average conference let alone the best conference. It'll take a few more to truly dethrone the SEC in the minds of the media and public. But with the current state of the coaching staffs in the SEC compared to the ACC, I think it's going to happen. GT/FSU/Clemson/Louisville aren't going to be losing the rivalry weekend series to UGA/UF/USCe/UK any time soon. And we finally have some support from the underachieving Miami/Pitt/VTs of the ACC to bolster the middle of the conference.
