Salvaging the season

.

What makes you think I give a hoot about credibility? I haven't stated anything that needs be "believed" by anybody. I am merely axing: if you are disappointed in your original expectations for this team, as I am, what would salvage things for you? Since it is mathematically possible to still be 11-1 is that what it takes? Some people believe that. I don't. And despite statements to the contrary, I don't believe most of us would take 5-7 and be happy if one of those 5 was against Georgia. I know I'd like the win, but would be overall concerned if we found a way to lose six more games.
Hope things go well on the really important stuff this weekend.

the point is that we have one loss

to make a post about how to "salvage" something that has not been lost is ridiculous

unless you had expected to go undefeated, as BoR suggests, there is nothing to "salvage" since nothing has been lost

as you say, we can go 11-1 still, how is it "salvaging" anything?

give me a break, mutt

I am scared to death of UGA right now. They put up 52 points throwing the ball and our defense has big enough holes for cruise ships to go through.

The only thing to be scared about is whether the new scoreboard can handle the deluge of points both teams will put up.

9-3. That makes everyone either satisfied or happy, and ready for next year.

We can't realistically expect much more than that at this point in time, and I don't think we should.

I'd agree with your semantics if we had lost on a long field goal with 30 seconds to play. We didn't. And if you are saying the game Thursday did not fundamentally change your opinion that you had of this team and its potential before the season started, fine---but I won't believe you. Hell, I expected four losses this year, thought we would have some difficulties, but my God, I never envisioned us playing like we played. The conventional wisdom is we can't block. In the game of football with a running team, you might as well say we can't walk. There is a laundry list of corrections needed on both sides of the ball.

So if you've given up, why keep posting? Just to aggravate people?

Well, he has to prove his point. It's a whole lot more important to him than winning, or salvaging a season.

And really, "salvaging" a season after 1 loss? USC might be salvaging their season after 1 loss. But we're not USC. Only in the deluded minds of our fanbase should we think our season is a disaster because of 1 loss, however ugly. If we win most of our games going out, finishing 9-3, in the top 25, and with a good bowl game, I'd consider it a good season.

He's not a UGA fan, just somebody who's very stubborn about what he believes and cares about his points more than winning. In his world, not hiring Muschamp or another "young and dynamic coach" is equivalent to GT deemphasizing football, as absurd as it is that GT would deemphasize football by doubling their football salary while ALSO still paying Chan's salary.

Then the coach wins 9 games, but he still seems quite unhappy Muschamp wasn't hired, goes underground for a bit, and comes back up when things go badly again. I'm guessing he attends a lot of the games, but he's the guy who doesn't seem all that happy to be that. He yells about things there go wrong and merely looks on with a stern face with things go well. I saw plenty of fans like this during Chan's time, and they're apparently still around.

Chance are UGag will beat us this year. We're a couple of years away from CPJ's team. So we will have a couple of years of trading victories until we just whip them regularly. I'm willing to wait.

I dunno, this is their points-against their last 9 games:
LSU - 38 (most scored on an SEC opponent)
Florida - 49
Kentucky - 38 (most scored on an SEC opponent)
Auburn - 13
Georgia Tech - 45 (most scored on an SEC opponent)
Michigan State - 12

Oklahoma State - 24
South Carolina - 37
Arkansas - 41

Average/game - 33 points

Can someone explain to me why it is often mentioned or suspected that Yukonwreck is a UGA fan??

Its not that his original posts look like a mutt, he's just pessimistic. From what I have seen the only indication that yukon could be a mutt is his response, or lack thereof, when called a UGAy fan.

If some one legitimately called me a mutt my response would be something like "I WILL F***ING SHOOT YOU IN THE FACE WITH MY BERETTA 9MM AFTER I LOOK YOU UP ON THE SEATING CHART" or perhaps "I hope you lock the door at night, I would hate to see one of your children get kidnapped and brutally raped one stormy night before I dump the crippled, barely alive body on the doorstep of a UGA fraternity." Anything that would strike fear of biblical proportions into the accuser's heart which still wouldn't be as bad as calling him a mutt.

Yukon just kinda brushes it off like its no big deal...

But thats just me.

Yeah what Motown said! I think we do have some mutts pretending to root for the Jackets on here. I can't believe all the negativety surrounding the program as far as direction. When CPJ rights the ship for good I wonder what these people will be saying?
Looks stick together like the elite brotherhood we are and back our team!'
Go Jackets!

Of course, ours is:
UVA - 24
FSU - 28
UNC - 28
Miami - 23
UGAG - 42
LSU - 38

JSU - 17
Clemson - 27
Miami - 33

Average/game - 29 points

Sounds like another close game.
