Saturday Games Thread

I watched more football games yesterday than I have in a long time and I can say that the ACC refs make ACC games less watchable than other conferences (PAC-## being a close second). The officiating is absolutely bleeding over into how the teams are playing the game which certainly affects teams when they play out of conference. I'd love to see the statistics by conference. It was relatively even thru 2018 according to some numbers I found, but I don't see anything more recent and just looking at the team data for this year tells the story.

What's worse is the officials were blatantly favoring UNC over Duke in that game. I would've supported Elko murdering one of them live on TV. It would've been a classic television moment.
I'm not sure if ANYTHING was or could be more embarassing than the 10 minute Bama-UT discussion over what down they were on. It takes about 30-45 secs to review 1st, 2nd, 3rd, a penalty for a down replay and then a 4th down play to be reviewed to count correctly. The only funny part about that was there was a slim chance they were going to give UT another play, matching the collosal öööö up that led to Colorado having a chance to split our championship in '90. C'mon, I get the you got to get the number of downs correctly but did it really have to take 10 mins? And that's supposedly the best officiating crew in all of the SEC calling that game.

it was 5th down they just didn't know

Everybody knew that before the stoppage, after about a minute the broadcast crew knew it. UT knew it, Bama knew it. I was flipping channels & I knew it. Hell, they even put some dopey kid on the screen that knew it.

The refs and the idiot down marker guys were the only people confused. Then a replay guy took 5-6 minutes of reviewing. Not sure what the hell he was doing. Play #1 was first down, play 2 is 2nd down, etc. Oh, yeah you got a penalty to deal with. Even my wife knows there's penalties that negate plays & she doesn't need to reference a rule book to find out.

Like I said, the most embarassing ref scenario of the year to date and in the running for the year & decade probably.

Yeah & it wasn't even a chop block. The second blocker (the low guy) needed to hit the defender at thigh level or lower. He blocked him at the waist. Payback for all Coach Cunt's whining & cheap shots over the years. Those dook bitches deserve every bit of screwing over they get.
Yeah that call bothered me so bad. I bet GT fans understand that rule better than most refs.

But as you say Duck Fuke.

They got screwed on unc's TD as well. Receiver stepped out fo bounds before catching it. The unc refs did all they could to throw that game & almost blew it, but in the end they got the outcome they wanted. fuc dook,

The high low tackle that took Sims out in our OT with Dook was a legit chop and no call. Then they call a high-mid tackle a chop against Dook vs Carolina. Hard not to notice the disparity.
