Saturday Practice Report

Re: Thanks, Stinger! a coupla questions

RS Soph transfer from Colgate, sat out last year.

Played locally at Marist in an option offense.

Lyons reported to haved rushed 12-94 & 2 TD Saturday.

He has impressed some people in that when he runs up the middle he always seems to get at least 4 or 5 yards.

MSSt, Duke, JSU, and UNC when CPJ sat Josh to see if Jaybo could have some success. Jaybo, in fact, did have more success than Josh against UNC as he was actually driving us down the field, but then we fumbled after we'd driven about 40 yards or so. That was our downfall more than anything else last year.

I also agree that Josh is clearly the best, but I feel good about Jaybo if he has to play as well. He's a good #2.
Well, the original post made it sound like PJ would play Jaybo to give Josh a break...you know, came in to "spell him". The only time Jaybo played was when we either had the game well in hand, or when Josh was hurt. Different story. Jaybo did well against Miss St and Duke and had some success against UNC relative to how we were moving the ball overall. But he never came in to "spell" Josh.

Gotcha. Now I see what you meant.

5. This DL impressed me with the way it gets after it. Anderson was a load, Barnes was, too. Morgan was, well Morgan. He's All-ACC this year, maybe A-A. Peters made a very athletic INT from the DT position. We're really going to be OK there. A couple of times they got driven off the ball, but overall, they remind me of the CJT smallish lines that just penetrated all over the place.

What's Jason Hill doing?

Here's a bit of info. We talked about how the first string offensive line didn't perform so well at times, but it turns out Cord Howard went and injured himself a little ways into the scrimmage. So our first string O line had more inexperienced players than not for the scrimmage and showed visible improvement towards the end, so there's a ray of hope for ya.
