wow that's a tough start for the year. On the other hand, we will make have a good idea on our season by Oct 17th.

oh just realized, a week of break before the UGA game, sweet!

Now this may just be the fault of the ACC and not us, but why the hell is our one bye week before our last game?
Beating UGA is always a pleasure, but saying we have to play 11 straight games is a bit much.

Tough schedule, getting into ACC early with Clem, Miami, and UNC. Then the next 4 out of 5 are away.

I think the ACC deviously planned that. Only UNC/VT play a Coastal team besides UVA and Duke after mid-October (each other).

Interesting that we have back-to-back Thursday games.

More exposure can't hurt.

**** just checked, Miami gets a bye week before playing us at home on a Thurs. Perhaps Shannon spread some money around to put us in a situation they were in last season....

I wonder what impact having only 5 days of rest / prep before the first Thursday night game will have...

Well I'm not so worried by that, because before that game all we have is Jax State. Not sure if we'll be too tired for the game. It's when we do things like go to Vandy and UVA after 8-ish straight weeks of playing.

Murderous. But what are you gonna do?

That schedule is soooo much better for us than the 2008 one. Bye week before UGA, Duke and Wake the two weeks before that, gives us a month to work on UGA stuff and get healthy.

Clemson and Miami early after both schools had coaching transitions of one sort or another, and might not have their feet underneath them. Two back to back Thursday Night games in the Summer, though, are good because it's fracking hot. Only having 5 days rest before Clemson sucks, but it's J State, so we should be okay with that.

Add to that, two nationally televised games early in the season, after we've got a reasonably good preseason ranking, can be a good platform for ranking advancement. If we can take care of business in both games, we could be Top Tenish by late September.

FSU and VT back to back sucks, but over all, I definitely don't think it sucks more than BC and VT back to back early in 08 did.

in their defense, they are opening up with FSU,GT,VT and oklahoma.

If we open 3-0 with national ESPN wins over Clemson and Miami we're going to be looking at a Top 10 ranking when we host UNC for the first big Saturday home game, which essentially guarantees a prime time kickoff and huge buzz.

And with UNC getting alot of preseason hype as well, there are odds that we might be looking at a Gameday visit...

point taken

I am really starting to think that the ACC people tried to get all these ACC teams that are suppose to contend for the divisions to play each other before october.

You're going to see another 6-2 or 5-3 win the conference this year again with Tie breakers playing another role. Take care of business early and let other teams catch up with us.
