Schedule

Although I like the Thursday night atmosphere, I don't like the schedule. No break until right before UGA? And Clem/Miami/UNC back to back and then FSU/VT/UVA back to back is going to be difficult.

We'll be up to the task though, and if it were easy, fat women and children would do it.

October is rough. Starting October 3 we only have one home game until November 7. So does that mean Virginia Tech (our only home game in October) is the homecoming game?

Signs point to yes... Yowza - so much for scheduling cupcakes for Homecoming.

I think that's what it has to mean. Wow, that'll be a big-time homecoming game.

IIRC, we haven't played a "cupcake" homecoming game in a while and have had some pretty good success in homecoming games (playing teams like Miami, Clemson, UVA - although we lost this season to UVA).

I've seen some say we have a tough stretch to start the season, some say October is brutal, etc. We (GT fans) couldn't put our heads together and come up with an easy schedule this year when you look at who we play and where - it would be tough no matter how you slice it.

And with UNC getting alot of preseason hype as well, there are odds that we might be looking at a Gameday visit...

I'd really be surprised if we got Gameday for UNC. However, that's because it's looking like we'll be playing VT for the Coastal on homecoming. Now that could be a Gameday visit, especially if VT keeps a really high rank till then.

If we had Gameday for homecoming that would be awesome.

10 - 2
Good Schedule, resting before UGA with a week off and Vandy, WF and Dook before that.

Clempson here, need room for the tractors
Miami there big game,
UNC will be a huge game,
UVA, lots of blood loss on their part
VT here will be fun

10-2

Uggggh why couldn't one of those away games in October switch with the UNC game...that's the weekend of my undergrad homecoming....uggggghhhh such a tough decision...

I'm really hoping for something to the tune of a 10-2 regular season next year. Looking at the schedule, I don't see us going any worse than 7-5, and that's if we tank.

I find it interesting that the following received midseason breaks in their schedule:

Duke
FSU
UNC
NC State
VPI

Perhaps most importantly......no ACC teams get an extra week to prepare for us!

Miami plays FSU Thursday 9/7, and us Sat. 9/17.

?

9/7 is a Monday. Labor Day.

9/17 is a Thursday.

If Miami has 9/12 off (I hvnt looked) then they get a bye before us. But its only a 10 day rest so that's helpful to us a bit.

Miami plays FSU on Labor Day.

Also to note is Clemson will only have a 5-day rest for our game, so we will both be coming off of 5-day rests. Clemson plays Middle Ten St.
