Sittin here gettin ready to go back out for the Fan Day festivities. Its definitely a hot one. I'm really enjoying my cool office right now though. We had a good crowd this morning for the scrimmage im guesstimating 2,500-3,000. Parents were selling t-shirts and bracelets. Good Vibe today from the fans.

1. The running game looked really well, Tashard had limited carries but made the most of them breaking off big runs on the first possession.

2. I think its safe to say we tried to establish the run today and worked on it a lot more then the passing game.

3. First team OL played well, creating big holes no matter who was carrying the ball.

4. Taylor looked sharp, he missed on a few passes but mostly he was putting it in the right spots, we had a few drops, two I remember were by Thomas and James Johnson. Booker struggled but he was against the first team D and worked with the second team O. Lets just say they didnt move the ball at all on the first team D first couple of possessions.

5. Dwyer had a few nice runs but also fumbled a few times, Roddy Jones had a really nice HB screen from Booker that he took to the house on the first team D, the only score I believe they had. Evans had a few nice carries and Grant is going to be a big weapon this year in the slot. He had some nice catches and runs after the catch.

6. Greg Smith had another solid day, JJ had a few nice grabs but also dropped one maybe two. Thomas made a nice grab in the end zone from Taylor on a fade route. Donley also had a few nice catches.

7. The D played well today with the Dline being in the second team O's backfield all day.

8. Nesbitt came in and ran a few quarterback draws and ran for some good yardage. He even leveled a DB. He also scored a TD, and threw a nice long pass to Luke Cox.

9. Pridemore and Sylvester were there today.

10. Blair might end up winning the kickoff duties, he booted one about two yards into the endzone from the 30.

11. MJ also ran a few plays on offense near the goaline.

12. Players not participating were Earls, Peek, Chambers, Smith, Kelly and Cox was limited.

13. Coaches seemed pleased after the scrimmage by the way they ran the ball and how the D looked.

Great report! Sounds like a very productive practice. Questions below.

I think I heard or read where coach wasn't all that happy with our passing game yet. How did it compare with our running game?

3. First team OL played well, creating big holes no matter who was carrying the ball. I think this may have answered #2 above.

It bothers me that we are having passes dropped. Were the passes right on target? Were the receivers hit hard just as the ball arrived?

Wonder what caused Dwyer to fumble...unfamiliar handoff, hard hits, failure to protect the ball, etc.?

6. Greg Smith had another solid day, JJ had a few nice grabs but also dropped one maybe two. Thomas made a nice grab in the end zone from Taylor on a fade route. Donley also had a few nice catches. Which of our receivers appears to have the best hands?

7. The D played well today with the Dline being in the second team O's backfield all day. Whoa...#3 above had me feeling real good about our OL.

8. Nesbitt came in and ran a few quarterback draws and ran for some good yardage. He even leveled a DB. He also scored a TD, and threw a nice long pass to Luke Cox. Was this against the #2 D?

9. Pridemore and Sylvester were there today. Great. Do they look like beasts?

10. Blair might end up winning the kickoff duties, he booted one about two yards into the endzone from the 30. Does he do the long kicks consistently? How about height/hang time?

11. MJ also ran a few plays on offense near the goaline. At Tight End?

12. Players not participating were Earls, Peek, Chambers, Smith, Kelly and Cox was limited.

13. Coaches seemed pleased after the scrimmage by the way they ran the ball and how the D looked.
