Should Utah be #1?

I don't understand the Plus 1. I don't see how it fixes anything at all...in fact, in my mind it makes it worse.

I made a post awhile back discussing a playoff format, and this was part of my overall point. Unless you make it a 16 team playoff at LEAST, then nothing works and it would make the system worse. The +1 is the worst solution to the current system.

The problem with a 16 team playoff is that you add a lot of games to the schedule. Only way a 16 team playoff works in my opinion is if you eliminate conference championship games, OR you force every conference to have a conference championship game and a strict 11 game season.

A playoff also makes this year's SEC championship game completely meaningless.

Not if it's for a first round bye or home field advantage. Also, it's replaced by other meaningful games.

The idea that a playoff system will only work if it's satisfies absolutely every qualm everybody has is nonsense.

Have the BCS conference winners plus MWC and WAC winners play an eight-team playoff. ND will have to join the Big 10, but too bad. They aren't what they once were anyway. If the MAC, CUSA, or Sun Belt have any worthwhile teams, I missed it. Only teams from the MWC or WAC have really come close to playing in BCS games in the 10 years it has existed.
