SI Ranks the bowls

I am convinced that SI hates us. But so far it has been good luck, so no worries.

The more they hate on us, the better we do. Bring it on.

SI is useful for one thing and that only comes out once a year and has nothing to do with football.

Why in the world do you think SI, or the editors/writers there, spend any time on something so active as "hating" GT? For quite a while we've been mostly irrelevant as far as the national picture is concerned. During that period of time we've had a few noteworthy players but unless you are a GT fan like us there's not been much reason for anyone to really care about GT football.

Now we've exceeded national expectations with a coach many in the media thought had a "quirky" system that couldn't possibly succeed in a BCS conference. Not only are we ranked higher than any other ACC team and not only have our last two games, both widely covered on TV, been huge games showcasing the devastating effectiveness of our offense (even against defenses with tons of top athletes), but we're going to be playing the defending National Champs (albeit having one of their worst years in recent history).

So now people who were indifferent to GT football are actually looking at it but some still can't quite believe this offense and coach can win at the highest levels so there's intrigue but they're not convinced yet. Give it time and we'll become more and more interesting as we become more and more relevant to the national picture.

What JOJATK is saying is that he advocates SI's open spite for Tech.
Thanks for the cliffnotes. JOJA's post was too long for me to read, so I'm glad you could clear things up like that and ensure that everyone knows exactly where JOJA stands on the issue.

You must have missed my summary on his article about how NAMBLA changed his life.

You remind me of one of those people who interprets every little thing literally (like that guy Sheldon from "Big Bang Theory" on CBS). When people say holy crap, you must truly believe that people are talking about divine feces. When I said that I am convinced SI hates us, it was said "in passing." Does that makes sense to you? I don't think that SI has a burning desire to hate GT. I am intrinsically alluding to SI's continuous under-rating of our program this year.

we mock what we don't understand :)

Don't bother, you'll never get anyone to stop dreaming up conspiracy theories about the media. One time they were pissed that AJC didn't print an article about someone committing to us in the Monday paper(making the specific day up) but had an article about it on the website. They were quite positive that if UGA had gotten a commit, it would have been in the paper. Despite the fact that he committed Monday at 10am, well after the papers had been printed and delivered....

Someone break this down into layman's terms for me, I'm just struggling.

What he means is that college football fans (Tech fans in particular) are paranoid about press coverage. Paranoid means they see slights and disrespect and favoritism where there aren't any. And he gives an example.

I like all the hand wringing and angst over SI when the article is really from Fox Sports.
