Nesbitt, due quite possibly to early injury, was not able to be the long run threat that our RBs were. Therefore, if you let Nesbitt keep the ball, it's the highest chance you have to achieve the defensive scheme I mention.
I agree. I personally think that Nesbitt's best two games, from an athletic standpoint, were the Boston College and VT games. They made him keep the ball, and he was able to pick up some crucial first downs by making guys miss.
After the Miss. St. game we never really saw that kind of burst and the willingness to take on tacklers again.
Granted, Nesbitt had much better games in terms of being a better QB (see Miami, FSU, UGA), but his best athletic performance came in those first two games.
