dude...not to be the bearer of bad news, but the navy not being in hot combat zones is not something new. In the first Iraq affair, they had a similar role as they do now, in the Bosnian support affairs they did, in vietnam they did, in korea they did. Its been since WWII that the navy was in serious combat.
My point....don't used the war on terror as the change. Its not....its always been that way and the war on terror has really nothing to do with it.
kids who go to navy, like navy, vs army or air force.

Multiple different sites will show the huge drop in West Point Admissions. Its a HUGE risk to go Army as opposed to Navy and Air Force right now. Plus, not to many people want to join the military now any way. Throw in the fact that there is no way these guys are going pro and you could see where its easy for West Point's teams to suffer these past few years.
