Six Straight against his arch-Rival...

dude...not to be the bearer of bad news, but the navy not being in hot combat zones is not something new. In the first Iraq affair, they had a similar role as they do now, in the Bosnian support affairs they did, in vietnam they did, in korea they did. Its been since WWII that the navy was in serious combat.

My point....don't used the war on terror as the change. Its not....its always been that way and the war on terror has really nothing to do with it.

kids who go to navy, like navy, vs army or air force.

Smoney is right...

Multiple different sites will show the huge drop in West Point Admissions. Its a HUGE risk to go Army as opposed to Navy and Air Force right now. Plus, not to many people want to join the military now any way. Throw in the fact that there is no way these guys are going pro and you could see where its easy for West Point's teams to suffer these past few years.

If only we could ship all the UGA grads overseas to Iraq...

:wow:The hell you say! I gotta go over there a**hole! I'm one of very very very few Tech fans in the Army. Last thing I need is some uggager talking about the nadlickers all day in Iraq next to me. There would be some PTS for sure...LOL

That is the biggest crock I've heard.
How come up until this year (With our lame duck Hc coaching his final game) the last 4 years were decided in the VERY last few moments of the game.
One thing Chan has done well, is raising our talent level. He just didn't have it in him, to coach that talent level up.

Richt got awful lucky this year. Beating a UF team with a beat up Tebow (Even espn came out after that saying Tebow was 50% in that game and could NOT be the usual running threat) Richt got awful lucky there at Alabama an UK ..So don't give us this almighty Richt stuff.

I am not implying that Richt is almighty. I'm just saying that just because you may hire a good coach (you just fired one, btw) from Navy who has proven he can dominate the series with Army, don't expect that to translate to the GT/UGA rivalry.

Now, I am not implying that a new coach at GT won't win a few versus UGA. That's going to happen anyway. I'm just saying don't expect dominance over UGA anytime soon.

UGA has a HC who could end up being its' best ever. Since 2002 we are on one of the best runs in UGA history.

2002: 13-1
2003: 11-3
2004: 10-2
2005: 11-3
2006: 9-4
2007: 10-2 (maybe 11-2)

Based on your comments, am I to assume that Richt has one of the best winning percentages in NCAA history because he is lucky?

1) Is he lucky because God loves him more than he does a coach like Mike Shula or Ed Orgeron?

2) Is he lucky because he is at a school that gets talent no matter what?

Please inform me, because what I have seen is this:

1) Players want to play for him because he cares about them as people, not just players (and it shows).

2) Parents love him for the same reason.

3) He can actually manage people.

4) He can actually draw x's and o's with the best of them.

Just my opinion.

From 1960 through 2002, the average difference in wins between the two was three and the series record over those 43 seasons is 19 - 22; nearly even.

So my point is that when either program is good or bad, so too is the other - the programs tend to mirror each other. There is no historical precedent for one team dominating the other.
Army went 9-2 against Navy from 1986-1986. How is that not dominating? There is no rational reason to believe that Army should magically be good when Navy is good or bad when they are bad. It's a simple fact that Army has been a horrible, horrible team for the past 6 years and dominating them was no trick. Deceive yourself otherwise if it makes you happy. If you want to brag on something for Johnson, his 5-1 record against a decent Air Force program is much more impressive than 6-0 against a completely hapless Army team.

Umm, you guys do realize a lot of the Navy football players are going to be Marine Officers don't you?

They have to put pictures in their playbooks ! Besides any man who has had air/ship support over their head really doesn't dislike the navy. We just make fun of their uniforms. 1-504 PIR!

I wonder if the families of the U.S.S. Cole think the Marines/Navy are out of harms way.

I can't argue your overall point however.

Props to the ones planning on joining the Marines. I'm just saying a lot of kids would rather go Navy and Air Force instead of Marines or Army.

That being said you can die in any branch including the Coast Guard. That's the risk we all take. However if you look you will see that West Point has been hit the hardest of all service academies because you KNOW your ass is going in the sandbox!

I'm done with the military comments though I come here to talk Tech!
