So how far did your paper airplane go?

Golly, gee whiz. Making and watching all those paper planes at a stupid old football game sure is fun. Whoopee!

Yea, from where I was...I saw way more LSU fans doing it. I even started to myself during the booth review at the goal line but thought better of it since the review ended and just threw it away.

Really? I was sitting in section 319 and saw alot coming from the sections on our left stretching out to the sections in the opposite endzone. At that time, I didn't see much at all coming from the LSU end. :laugher:
 
I thought it was fun as did my 10 year old son. We were in section 322 and I saw PLENTY of Tech fans throwing them. Did anybody see the airplane that went totally across the field over to the LSU sidelines???!!! That was so freakin awesome!! My favorite part of the whole day was watching my son high-five all of the players during the walk through at FanFest. We got pictures of him high-fiving MJ, JN and MB! Hell, he still has his face paint on right now! 9 wins and a Ugag defeat...f#$% last night...we had a good year!!!
 
The most bizarre thing about the airplane event was that the CSC Event staff attacked our section tossing out people who they say threw airplanes. They threw out 2 men who had 4 kids with them, in the middle of the 2nd quarter. I would be pretty irate if I spent $300 for tickets and then got kicked out if one of kids made a paper airplane. I mean sheesh. Two guys in our row who appeared to be students also got escorted out for doing it. Seriously we had about 4 of the turd event staff harrassing Tech fans in our section the whole second quarter. This group did not appear very professional. They appeared to be picking fights.

Finally right before half some student age guy who has passed out drunk (apparently) gets drug down the aisle to the steps and then the staffer throws him over his shoulder and carries him out that way. My wife was in the break area when they got him down and she says they laid him on the floor and dragged him by his arms to the escalator. God forbid you really have a medical emergency in the dome!
 
GT threw a paper-tiger defense on the field as well....so the airplanes were fitting, imo.

Good for them! I'm glad they threw them out. Why pay $300 to go watch your kids throw paper airplanes? In case you forgot, we were there to watch a football game...not to attend a Science Olympiad competition. If your kids were that bored, take them home. They can make paper airplanes in your backyard for free. It was totally disrespectful to the other fans who wanted to still watch what was left of the game, the team who were still out there giving it their all, and all the staff who had to clean up after your sorry asses. I hope the people that they did catch got a nice little fine for being stupid and letting their kids be little brats. As a fan who has never left a game early in over three years, I was so angry at the amount of our fans who stooped to such a childish level that I had to leave as soon as we heard the Budweiser song. Seriously people, grow up...that was completely ridiculous and uncalled for.

Lighten up. Francis. I'm sure you enjoy your "purity of the game" opinion, but we really don't care about your opinion.

I didn't throw any airplanes, but sure enjoyed the ones I saw.
 
The bottom line is don't throw paper airplanes if doing so distracts your team, insults your team or prevents you from cheering appropriately for your team.

All other times fold them up and let 'em fly.

If you can't distinguish between when to throw them and when not to throw them, you are a dumbass.

All I was really saying is last night's game was obviously one that warranted a few airplanes, but they shouldn't be thrown during a goal-line stand or when Nesbit gets tackled for a loss. Enjoy them at appropriate times - like the 15 minute commercial breaks we had all season.

By the way, what was up with the guy in the red coat at all of our home games telling the refs when we could start playing again? Who was that guy?

Really.

The airplanes weren't all that distracting. They didn't stop play. They didn't make noise. They aren't that big and/or obtrusive. I was able to pay attention to the game and support my team whilst also being entertained by the planes.

We were getting TROUNCED. I was hurting. The planes made me hurt a little less.

I'm guessing you're referring to the person with the headset who got the signal from TV that the media timeout could end and play could resume.

That's the guy who is in charge of the TV Timeouts. He comes out when there is one, and gets word as to when they're over, so that he can tell the refs to resume play. I usually try to spot them at whatever game we're at. The guy at our home games wears red, the guy at the uga game wore tan I believe, and the guy last night was in black or navy.

That's who I figured he was, and I never cared for him. I didn't like the fact that he always wore a red coat and our tv timeouts always seemed to go way longer than anyone elses. I saw PJ get on to him a couple of times early in the season.

Well I guess wearing red would make him stand out more at our games. Maybe I've been being too harsh on the guy all season.
