So what is it like to beat UGA?

Its been a while since we beat uga... in fact i was in the 4th grade (2000) the last time GT beat UGA

It's like nothing else, especially your first time.

For me, that was my soph year in the fall of '74, in Athens. The wishbone rolled, we won big, in a day with icy rain, temp about 34. I had no voice left, soaked to the bone, facing pneumonia just before finals.

My best friend still had a voice and kept telling Dawg fans as we left the stadium he hoped they would enjoy their upcoming trip to the Tangerine Bowl. They were not amused.

The first time I really remember us beating UGAy was in '98. I will always remember Brad Chambers kicking that field goal to give us the win in Athens!

Walking on the Driving Range the day after the game and shouting "how bout them dogs" is a really great feeling. The sad part is most of the lickers are still in bed, but it is the thought that counts.

Good thing for the Party season is to wear your "UGA a mind is a terrible thing to waste" button. Along with your GOLD shirt. Just do not say anything about the game just let them sulk and lick.

The best way I can put it... An afterglow that all is right with the world.

Beating UGA is the third best feeling in the world, after great sex with your loved one and having your parachute open again!

I was there also. It was my first Tech-Georgia game as an alumnus. I well remember the cold rain, and the postgame laryngitis.

As I recall, Georgia had been favored to win by 2 or 3 touchdowns. Also, wasn't that game played on Thanksgiving Day?

No, that was a Saturday. The next year we were 7-3 going in and favored and we played at Grant Field on Thanksgiving night. We got blown out in the first half, Pepper gave a great "don't give up speech" in front of the cameras, and Rudy Allen led a good comeback that fell short. If Auburn had not broken legs at mid-season that year that team would have perhaps gone 9-2 and beaten Georgia. Seems like Sims, Myers, and either Rucker or Ivery got speared and injured that day.
