So, who are the new vocal team leaders that...

Bostic?

Is that speculation? I was under the impression that he didn't play as much as he could have based on not knowing his assignments and not stepping up to be put in the game. I could be way off with that impression though.

I hope Bostic steps up and plays as well or better than Orwin. I never thought his returns were a threat though.
These ARE the young kids that have been chompin at the bit to get people fire up...but knew it was not their place....yet

So is it confirmed that Denzel will play in 2011?

The team in general does a pretty good job of keeping things under wraps. Better than the US State Department, that's for sure.

No idea. I was hoping for a response as well.

winner.

And we sure need to start seeing a lot more "doing" than "talking."
no one was doing either tex.

56 is not a good example because he was self-motivated and probably wanted to win at everything including tiddly winks. Most people are not that way...even higher end athletes.

How about guys like Jackson on the OL or are OL not typically leader types?
OLS' are their own band of brothers typically..and this younger group is pretty tight. The QB often times shoulder much of the responsibility for getting them turned up during the games. Ever watch Tom Brady digging into his?

I think Synjyn will become a lot of people's new favorite player. The fire in that kid is undeniable. He is someone everyone listens to, every quality you want in a leader.

He's just one of those kids you just believe in to get the job done, a lot like TC.

Very encouraging. I have faith in the team but this is just good news.

The team's vocal leader is someone who has never played a snap?

Oh boy.

But I don't think anyone has expected him to play yet. Nesbitt was the clear starter and Washington the clear backup. Wasn't Synjyn running the scout team? I'm sure he's been a presence on the practice field then.

It will be Synjyns job to lose this fall at QB...and David Sims job to lose this fall at BB. Vad would have got a serious look this spring if he enrolled early...but is still good enough to push Synjyn and perhaps pass him within 2 years.

Have you seen Synjyn practice? How many actual games until he's at Nesbitt's level of running the offense (excluding the experience part).

And is Denzel going to see the field in 2011?

Me too. Same impressions from me, same questions from me, I could be way off too, etc.

Source for Bostic being a younger vocal team leader?

I hope yall are right about Synjyn and not just telling me what I want to hear. :)

I saw Synjyn in one fall scrimmage (the rest were closed) and his mechanics looked FAR better than anyone else I had seen to that time. The speed at which he operated and the tight, accurate tosses showed me that he knew what he was doing from the get-go. He ran hard behind his pads and his passes were definitely in the acceptable range. With a year under his belt, and having watched our other QB's play, I'm pretty certain he has a good shot to take the starting spot this spring.

Dem, I met this kid a couple summers ago at Mike Sewak's camp. His demeanor then was impressive. I tend to like confindent kids that work their butts off without saying much. Like Nate said, talk is cheap.

Talk is cheap, yes, unless you back it up on the field like TC. Then it speaks volumes.

Guys, these are a coupla linemen here. They are the ones that have to do the heavy work so some fast little back gets the glory. These type men don't respond well to talk, when the next snap they have a guy like Perry or Stinchcomb pounding on them.

I've always wondered what effect running the scout team had on our backup qb's and if it hurt or helped their progress in PJ's offense. I've always tended to think it did little to prepare them for it. Now I'm starting to wonder if it helps all these "run first" dual threat guys get their passing mechanics down. Maybe Synjyn's passing has benefited from playing pretend pro-style qb. What say ya'll?

I just hope they can remember the friggin' snap count.
