I remember reading an article a few months ago about this really good soccer player who has like a 4.0 GPA and a bunch of other junk who said he wanted to play for us.

Find his damn name and send it the coaches. If he can kick we'll take him.

Was it CPJ that said he didn't like to waste a scholarship on recruiting a kicker/punter? If so, I believe it's time to change his philosophy.

Looks like CPJ is tired of it as well. Chris Tanner kicked the XP and the kickoff.

Blair is WAY too inconsistent to be our kicker. We left 6 easy points on the field today, and although it didn't matter much in the long run, it will in a closer game.

Guys like Rodney Williams and Scott Sisson should put an end to the scholarship kicker issue. If you bat .333 on this you still win. Sorry CPJ, luv ya man, but gotta disagree here. Look at the number of position players who never make significant contributions and yet we are worried about not giving 1 or 2 more ships due to giving a couple to kickers!?

I remember reading an article about him that was posted on The Hive (the actual message boards). Can't seem to find it at the moment though.

I love how the coaching staff sent in #17 RS Freshman. Lets players know their place.

Blair kicked two great kickoffs into the endzone...and then just chunked it the rest of the way. I feel certain that Johnson was going to go for it on any potential 4th downs on the last big drive.

He also makes some great tackles on the returns, some of which have kept the other team from making a TD.

Is this a justification for kicking 2 out of bounds and wiffing two field goals?

And does it indicate a problem when I have to ask - does he have 1 or 2 missed XPs this year?

I know he had one missed against Miami. And no, it's not justifiable, it just shows that he's very inconstant. Our special teams won us the game against Miami, but they really sucked today.

My solution to our kicking woes is not to kick. Other than kick-offs, let's just not kick fgs, punts, or pats.

I suggest going down to the soccer field and signing one of those boys up!

I think I read somewhere that kicking doesn't translate as well from high school to college. Maybe beacuse of the block they kick off of, having to kick it higher, whatever. A lot of coaches are willing give scholarships to kickers, but they want to see the kicker prove he can kick well first.

I was glad to see Tanner come into the game. I just shook my head when the commentator said that Orwin Smith kicked the extra point.

Wishful thinking about winning against Miami, I think you meant Clemson.
