Some positive words from a Nebraska(?) fan

Don't put too much on failing at Cleveland as a benchmark...Other coaches (cough...Belichick) have not fared greatly at Cleveland.

I know they had a year of solid recruiting, but why is everyone jumping all over the UNC bandwagon?

A lot of it has to do with the new coach, but a lot more of it has to do with UNC being a sleeping giant. Strong alumni base, relatively recent success under Brown, great education, tons of majors, lots of pretty girls, beautiful campus, pretty good, though not great, facilities. If they get recruiting rolling and start owning their own state (like they should, no one likes NCSU and Duke/Wake tend to be overlooked by most serious D1 talent) and pulling a few from Virginia and SC they could be a force.

pretty good, though not great, facilities.

They have a renovation slated that will bring there stadium occupancy up to 75,000ish and add new weight/locker rooms.

I saw the drawings in a .pdf somewhere but I can't find it right now. It's on there scout.com board somewhere.

Might I remind you guys that UNC whupped our tails in 2004, and 2005, 06 and 07 were all one-score games. They have recruited at least as well as we have the last 3 years, have a proven, veteran coach, and played some very close games last year. 6 of their 8 losses were one-score games (4 by 4 or less points) and the total margin for those 6 games was 31 points.

They were close last year with no running game, but they have recruited well at RB the past two years. They will be tough this year, especially in CH.

I don't buy into the idea of UNC being "the team to beat" in a couple of years because Virginia was in the exact same (If not better off) position back around 2002 and they made very little of some pure gold recruiting classes.

I understand that Butch > Al but, they're going to have to show me first.

The one down on P'tree, close to Brookhaven, has a breakfast buffet kind of thing on Saturdays that's pretty decent if you have the time and are in the area.

MOO!

GSU=Georgia Southern=Statesboro, just in case you thought I meant GA State.

I'm also from nowhere near atlanta.

Count me among those who are worried about UNC in the coming years. I think they might have something there.
