but I keep hearing that we have never won in Tallahassee. Is this correct? Or is it based on some kind of technicality? If anyone has a link that would be helpful.

The technicality is that we didn't start playing there till 1993 and have only done so 6 times.

Yes, but the lashings we took down there were enough to last a lifetime.

51-0
42-10
38-0
41-35 :angryfire:
14-13 :angryfire: :angryfire:

It is interesting though that while we haven't won, it's been 12 years since they truly woodshedded us down there...I was a freshman at GT that year. Joe Hamilton was not nearly as loved during that game (at least on campus) as he was the next two years.

With the chaos down there I wouldn't be surprised to see us repay the favor and take them on a trip to the woodshed...

Ah, 14-13. Gailey ball at its best. What a terrible way to lose a game, giving up 2 td's late in the 2nd half and no hope for a come from behind win.

It was also a tactical error IMO to kick an extra point after going up 12-0 early in the 4th (or maybe it was late in the 3rd). They were much more likely to score 2 tds at that point than 1 td and 2 fgs.

Yeah, it was early in the 4th. That game should've been over at halftime though. We spent nearly in the entire 1st half in plus territory and only led 6-0. They stopped us on 4 runs inside the 2 to end another drive. Just another chapter in a horribly heartbreaking series.

For the record, many will remember Reggie Ball saying we wouldn't lose another game after that effort. The next week, we faceplanted against Clemson 39-3. There's Gailey-ball in a nutshell.

Those were two horrible, horrible weeks. The FSU loss was definitely the most heart-breaking loss I had experienced. I wanted that one badly. Then the Purple Shirt Massacre the following week felt like living through a nightmare. I remember the only positives from that game being that it wasn't televised and PJ Daniels had an awesome hurdle over a guy for a long run.

1992 was worse. Was the beginning of the end for BL...in his fifth game as GT's coach.

Before FSU joined the ACC we had never lost to them, and had made them come to Atlanta for every game. This is another streak that CPJ will end.

one of the worst feelings after a Tech game that I have ever had. It was one of those outcomes that changes the course of history---and you knew it when the game ended. But maybe we were fortunate in that regard.

Not to be a douche, but you're confusing 2003 with 2006. 2003 was the beat down they handed us in Atlanta, and 2006 was the purple shirt massacre at Clemson.

In 2003, they unveiled their purple jerseys (At least it was the first time I'd ever seen them) with white pants. I've called it the Purple Shirt Massacre since it happened. The 2006 game was the one where they wore all purple - that was just an ass-kicking.

Ah ok, my mistake. God damn Clemson and their slightly creepy infatuation with the color purple.

Well, what's your curse on us with our infatuation with shades of gold? Purple is a hellish hard color to reproduce (or even confidently identify, for me.)

Yup. It's true. We lost 12 matchups in a row, and before that it was just bowl games or they came to Atlanta...

theres a first time for everything, though.

Yes, and not only did they wear purple shirts, but they accented them 'urnge numbers and white "shadows."
