Similar situation happened years ago when our sons were playing in HS. They played offense, and had to punt. One son ran off the field, headed straight for the water cooler and his cheerleader girl friend. Defense forced a turnover first play. Offense back to the field with one son chatting with girl friend and not paying attention. As his Momma and I sat in the stands hollerin as loud as we could for him to wake up, his head coach managed to beat us to the punch. Worst chewing of one's behiney I've seen in years. LOL :), and he deserved every bit of it.:o
