What 5 stars were picking UGA and Clemson before they built their program up idiot?
What part of my statement about it would take damn near a decade and successful results on the field to get those guys, JUST LIKE EVERY OTHER TEAM? you have to start winning before they come, and I said it will take time for that to happen.

What year has UGA not picked up top recruits? They out recruited us when Ross was here. Donnan out recruited O'leary. I mean seriously, what are you talking about? We got to start winning before they come or they have to come so we can win, which is it?

Building a UGA, Clemson, Bama type program needs to happen outside the coaching hire. For each of those programs the coaching hire was the final piece, an important piece; but those programs were fundamentally there before the coach ever showed up.

Arizona passed on Niumatololo because they were concerned that players wouldn't like the system. They just lost 45-18 to Houston.
I was there today - it wasn't as close as the score. Before UH pulled its starters ( too early) they were up 38-0. They passed on Niumatololo and took Sumlin. He was yet another former UH coach that ran off for bigger and better. And
UH is prolly better than USF. Time will tell.

Yes, I think the system is an issue. The only HS in GA who still runs the flexbone is Marist, and even they are passing more this season. The elite programs and players want nothing to do with this type of offense.

Kids want to go where they can win, and display their talents for the next level. Take Justin Fields for example..he's from metro Atlanta, and a mobile QB. Tech offered him, but do you seriously think a kid with offers from Bama, LSU, UGA and Auburn will take Tech seriously? He's a 5 star with hopes of making the NFL and getting rich. When was the last time a CPJ QB went to the NFL and didnt have to switch positions?

If Tech were to switch systems, it could take 5-9 years before the best players in the state would want to come to Atlanta. You would have to have success and sustain it for a few years before the 4 and 5 stars would want to come. Until then, we can continue to be satisfied with the 2 and 3 star players and pretend that they are good enough to win the ACC and make it to the playoffs.
This may be the stupidest ööööing post ever in this board by someone not named cincy or Atlanta.

When's the last time Tech had an NFL QB at all, regardless of system? This is not new. We weren't bringing in 5 stars before CPJ and we won't be after he's gone.
You’re right. Calvin Johnson would love to play here

Forget reality for a second.

It's losses like these that deepen the very real perception out there that GT is a second rate program. THIS, among other things, likely impacts recruiting of players and coaches, alike.
And the fact that we are quite literally a second rate program?

St. Pius runs it, and they almost never pass

You can't be serious!Tech is no where fundamentally a good football program. No way it will change until johnson quits or retires. He is not going to change his precious TO.

Calvin Johnson was not a 5 star top high school recruit:

Johnson, on other hand, was not. The 6-4, 210-pound wide receiver from Sandy Creek (Tyrone, Ga.) at the time was a 4-star recruit, ranked No. 37 overall by Rivals, and was not in Tom Lemming's Top 100.

Early Doucet, Cameron Colvin, Fred Davis, and Lance Leggett were all ranked above Johnson. Only Fred Davis got drafted and remains in the NFL (pending suspension).

We get occasional 4 stars now.

Do you think UGA was a fundamentally good football program when Donnan was coach? Do you think Bama was a fundamentally good football program when Mike Shula was coach? Those are serious questions and note I am asking about the football program, not the team W-L record.

Speechless... our starting QB, love him or hate him. Leaving practice for school. We aren't playing the same game boys.

Ok. Keep thinking someday CPJ will get 4 and 5 star guys to play in this offense.

Please tell me when any GT coach ever got 5-stars to play here?

You're a ööööing moron.

Ah yes..the "its never been done before, so why should we expect it" excuse.

newsflash dumb ass- if you keep CPJ then you will only prolong not signing any 5 star kids.

Hey, it doesn't matter. Our starting QB is leaving practice to go to class. Jake Fromm from State Farm is practicing and then polishing some nice poon.

Yeah, but you see, the thing is it probably helped him not being exposed to CPJ anymore that day.

And in other breaking news - it appears TM & TO have to fly back to ATL in the middle of the 2nd quarter Saturday of the Pitt game to look at some frog dissection slides. They hope to be back in Pitt with at least 5:00 minutes left in the 4th qtr.

Logic is ööööing alien to you, isn't it?

Yes, because you are here complaining about CPJ and he has gone out and won national championships. GT is the problem. I will concede the mix of the two looks bad .
