Not like we didn't know that already... Sorry if this has been posted before.

1. Georgia Tech. First, a disclaimer: It's not all running backs at Tech. In fact, quarterback Josh Nesbitt is the team's most dangerous runner in the triple option offense. But the Jackets grind away with the power and speed of star running back Jonathan Dwyer before hitting the defense with quick scatback Roddy Jones. Louisville transfer Anthony Allen gives the team another dynamic option.
Georgia Tech coach Paul Johnson says: "I think if you asked any of our guys, they'd tell you they really weren't completely comfortable with what we were doing (in Johnson's first season). Knowing what they did last year, that certainly makes it more exciting knowing what could be this season if they continue to work."

Interesting article. I like how they understand that we've got a system of backs coming at a defense. I don't like ND having the best receivers though. The Fighting Lou Holtzes could have CJ, Larry Fitzgerald and a route-running cheetah made of double-sided tape and they still won't catch a pass when Jimmy Clausen is busy eating grass on every snap. Clausen's comment is 100% true because their O-Line looked like a mild inconvenience to most defenses last season, much less any sort of problem.

Weis will never have a productive offense at the college level. Never. He could take an experienced offense under Quinn who already knew the basics and implement his crazy schemes, but he simply can't teach fundamentals. There's no excuse for Clausen performing as badly as he has.

Notre Dame had TWO DRIVES THAT STARTED INSIDE THE SYRACUSE 20 YARD LINE LAST YEAR, BOTH OF WHICH ENDED IN PUNTS. Both in the 3rd quarter, just coming out of their half time adjustments. Both lost so many yards they ended inside their own half of the field. Simply amazing.

Yall think Chan Gailey football is bad? Charlie Weiss football is absolutely ten times worse than that.

Wasn't that the game where the Notre Dame fans pelted their own team with snowballs?

Where's UGa's vaunted OL?

Somewhere behind Rutgers and LSU, I guess.

After reading all about it on the A J C, I had UGa down for 700 yards of offense per game this year. Guess the sports world hasn't caught up to the journalistic juggernaut that is the AJC sports department. [/smirk]

Oh, and did you catch comment #1 by the ND fan?

ND is speed U.
Our opponents will NOT be able to keep up with us and we will win big.
ND 2009 BCS champs

This guy must be off his meds or somethin.

Chan Gailey 33, Charlie Weis 3
I wuz there.

OK, so it's 11 times... but who's counting. ;)

I was there as well. The shine dulled a bit after they lost to everyone else that year too, but it was still a great day, and weekend in fact.

Wow. Just wow. I'm biased for GT too, particularly after I've had a few brews, but wow...

Weis... Triple Option.... It could happen:laugher:

I was at that game. Big bro is an ND grad and we had great time on the trip except for the actual game. Anyway, the students were having a snowball fight, there was lots of snow in the stadium, go figure. The guards tossed a couple of guys out. Later some students began targeting the guards with snowballs. The guards happened to be on the ND sideline.

So, to answer your question, no, the fans did not pelt their own team with snowballs.

Well, if Clausen is any sort of indicator, no one at Notre Dame can hit anything they throw at.

I enjoyed the comment about Gailey being 11 times better then Weiss. That's the sound, intelligent commentary I love this board for. +1 to you, sir.
