Sporting News Report on CCG

If age were a factor and I would have to think it to be one, and after the heart complications CCG encountered, I just can't imagine that he would consider making a switch. He's getting his ducks all in a row now, and it's taken all this time to do it.

Nooooo, he's not wanting to leave. Nothing to gain and a lot to lose. He's on the verge of really having a super great team to work with. CCG doesn't impress me as being suicidal.

Tony Barnhart(?) today said that the only coach out there that could unite the fan base is Spurrier, and that won't happen. I don't know if he is true about the first part. I also don't know if he is true about the latter.
I can see Spurrier taking one more shot at glory in a difficult situation. The Augusta National membership thing may be what is holding him back.

Re the Alabama people, there is definitely a faction that wants some stability. They won with Curry. It has cycled around again.
CG would want no part of that mess.

If I were Bama I would see if the rumors that Saban would like to come back to college coaching are true.

HAHAHA! Let him go and have Bama lose 6 straight to Auburn! He would get canned after losing 2 just like Curry. What a joke.

In a discussion at breakfast this a.m. Bama fans reminded us Curry wasn't canned........he left for the Kentucky.

He was run off, by being offered a new contract designed to professionally castrate him. (e.g. Taking away his authority to name his own assistant coaches.)
