Stateline sighting.

BOR, Bilbo was never going to get the chance people thought he should because he failed miserably from the beginning, .

I'm not trying to rehash an old arguement here. But No one can tell me that a guy who had more HS accolades than any previous QB at GT, given the same amount of repeated opportunities without getting benched for poor play as Reggie Ball received, would have fared any worse than Reggie Ball. Sorry, but given that Bilbo was faster than Reggie, at least he could have run the option better (which he did against UGA in 2004).

But Reggie failed repeatedly and kept on getting the start. I would tend to think that given as many chances Bilbo would have done no worse.

Your right it's an arguement not worth rehashing but after talking to several coaches, I tend to believe them and their assessment.

Refrigeratormover, I used to agree with you, and then I saw last year's UGA and Wake games, and since that point I stopped believing the coaches and their assessment of our starting QB. That was solidified when I saw Taylor's play in the Gatorbowl.

SLJ wasn't serious about Gailey ruining Bilbo's QB career. You took him literally. What he was serious about is that looking back on the Bilbo situation, it made no sense if we were upgrading to Reggie Ball.

Well, I agree that Bilbo may have done better than Ball, but good ol' StatelineJacket, bless his heart, repeated that Gailey ruined Bilbo's NFL career so often I have to believe he was serious.

I understand, the only thing that I will say is Chan has brought his NFL philosophy to college and when you don't practice well you don't play. I don't agree with it but that is his style.

Practice does make perfect and I have seen a lot of guys benched for ****ty practices and some lose their jobs aka get cut!

I don't always agree with it but just trying to show you a perspective that you might not have thought about.

A lot of people think Chan's a dumbass for his handling of the QB situation but I for one understand where he is coming from. That doesn't mean I agree with him and I have let it be known to him.

i have no idea how Bilbo looked in practice, he may very well of been awful. I did, however, watch every play he ever had in a live game and he looked better throwing the ball than Reggie ever did. He was about as inconsistant as Reggie with a lot more upside.
