Stuart Scott

Stephen A. Smith ... once fired from the High Point (N.C.) Enterprise. Now trying to outscream fellow dingleberry Skip Bayless every morning.
Dear God, I hope the Mayans are right.

Did you catch Mark Cuban shut Skip down the other day?

That was good stuff. Bayless is such a whiney beeyotch who feels that emotions and stressful situations have more bearing on outcomes that strategy. Cuban totally punked his ass on that point. It was funny as hell.

One of my old roommate's best friends was tight with Bayless and said Skip was great. We thought dude was permanently high.

The only thing that bugs me about Stuart Scott is that despite being 46 yrs old he tries to act like "one of the boys" when he is interviewing kids half his age. It is kind of silly.

HOWEVER....have to give the man credit. He had his eye slammed by a football while covering the NYJets about 10 years ago and went into emergency surgery. He has suffered from drooping eyelids ever since. To top if off, he has battled cancer a couple of times over the past 5 years.

So...he is a pretty tough guy.

before his divorce in the early 2000s, he lived across the street from my dad for 5 or so years; his wife and kids still do. He is a really good guy, other than the whole cheating thing. Ha.

He was covering the Jets, but in a unique way. He was in pads, he used to play at UNC as a walkon and was Michael Jordan's roommate. Anyway the story was for him to be in pads and compete in OTA's during the summer and do a journalist report on what it was like. This was in 98 or 99. He had a eye infection as a kid, that always made one eye 'bad'; and when he got popped it sent him blind for short term. He had just had a newborn at that time too. It was a tough situation. thankfully he recovered.

It was very often MJ would be over his house, as they made gambling trips to the casinos in the early 2000s....he came to a few of our christmas parties. I do agree, he over does his 'street cred' routine. Nothing like that at all.
