I think John Saunders was ahead of him.
Greg Gumbel was before him in 1979, which was the first year SportsCenter aired.

anyone who spells stewart without a "w" is an idiot.

Stephen A. Smith ... once fired from the High Point (N.C.) Enterprise. Now trying to outscream fellow dingleberry Skip Bayless every morning.
Dear God, I hope the Mayans are right.
Did you catch Mark Cuban shut Skip down the other day?
He went out for a pass from a passing machine and missed it and the football hit him in the eye.

That was good stuff. Bayless is such a whiney beeyotch who feels that emotions and stressful situations have more bearing on outcomes that strategy. Cuban totally punked his ass on that point. It was funny as hell.
The only thing that bugs me about Stuart Scott is that despite being 46 yrs old he tries to act like "one of the boys" when he is interviewing kids half his age. It is kind of silly.
HOWEVER....have to give the man credit. He had his eye slammed by a football while covering the NYJets about 10 years ago and went into emergency surgery. He has suffered from drooping eyelids ever since. To top if off, he has battled cancer a couple of times over the past 5 years.
So...he is a pretty tough guy.
