Student Attendance

There some X allotment of student tickets in the stadium.

At the beginning of the year you can reserve a seat in a block by paying ~$70 and you get a wristband for each game that lets you in the south endzone along with your buzzcard. There are some other random rules about the blocks and their sizes and crap. It doesn't matter cause no one polices non-seatback seating.

Of the allotment, those not reserved for block seating are available online (for free) to any student roughly the Monday before each game (X - block tickets reserved). This puts a "ticket" on your buzzcard which you can use to enter the North Endzone. Once enough students reserve tickets online to fill the X allotment, no more are available.

About the Wed before a game if there are tickets left, you can reserve a "guest pass" as another swipe on your buzzcard (for ~$15-$45).

As far as I know you can't just walk up to the stadium and get in with your buzzcard unless you've reserved a ticket. This is no matter how many tickets have been reserved. I think they should change that. Even though it literally takes 1 minute to get a student ticket online.

It's what they do at Cameron for grad students. For big games they don't even monitor how many students they let in, they just try to pack the stadium as full of students as they can get it.

Let me emphasize my original response for you.

Yeah, my understanding (not a student) is that they have to be reserved before the game and when students with tickets don't show up, there are empty seats. May be incorrect though.

haha he was asking whether the students are claiming all the available seats and not showing, or just not claiming all the seats.

Using prior years' experience, I'd say that students aren't claiming all the seats as there haven't been any emails saying that there are no more free student tickets available. (They do the same with wristband distribution as well for general student seating)

ahh, i see. i understand that they are sold out in advance of the game and then people just don't show up.

This is very well true as well since most of the students get tickets for social reasons and really don't care about going to game until they're headline games (like the rest of the games on the schedule).

They need to stop using wristbands. They add nothing to the process, groups were pretty good at policing their block section before. It adds to much hassle and confusion.

$49 should get you season tickets on buzzcard.
Rest should be first come first serve at the gate
X number of guest passes should be reserved for purchase before the game

Simple, easy, no having to deal with going online or having wristbands. People who want he reserved ticket can go get season tickets

Bonus option: get rid of block seats. Make plans to meet in certain section or travel as group together

My AE student son and his pals get there when the gate opens and claim their South Stands first row seats. I raised the boy right. Look for them close to the guy in the banana suit.

Doesn't matter now, Clemson, VT and uga student crowds should be very good.

I'll believe it when I see it. Until then, I expect the current crop of students to continue showing the least student support for the team in my lifetime.
