FYI -- the Sugar Bowl is a sellout
My nephew works with the Sugar Bowl committee. According to him, the Ticketmaster and UGA tickets have all been sold. The Hawaii tickets will likely not be sold out, and the UGA fans will get a crack at them.
However, because Hawaii is still in possession of their allotment it's considered a sellout.
a lot of what you're seeing on eBay is LSU fans selling their tickets.
Tickets for most bowl games other than the Peach, National Title game and a few others with exceptionally compelling match-ups (like UF vs. someone in a Florida bowl or USC in the Rose or Texas in the Cotton) are generally available online at or below face value via after market sources.
Last year, we could get Gator Bowl tickets for a smile and a wink and/or some soft shoe.
The Sugar Bowl is expecting 45,000 - 50,000 mutts and 8,000 Hawaii fans. They expect the rest of the tickets to be unallocated Hawaii tickets that UH has to eat, no show UGA fans or LSU fans that couldn't unload their extras.
If the Mutts really bring 45,000 to New Orleans for a game as uncompelling as the Hawaii match-up, they're stock in the BCS's eyes will go through the roof.
I'm skeptical. I think they bring 35,000.
