If Dabo left tomorrow Clemson would still be really good. If Venables left tomorrow they might not be.

Sure, they would still be really good, on the back of the people he chose to hire and the program he built. It's crazy not to count that as a really important part of being a head coach; one of the most important parts of being a good leader is choosing the right people to put under you and trusting them to perform.

Before Dabo got there, they went close to twenty years without winning ten games in a season or winning their conference. In the eight years he's been there, they've won ten games six times, the conference three times, and a national championship last year.

That's a stark dichotomy, and it all comes down to Dabo.
 
Clemson's finally stopped Clemsoning and people here don't want to credit Dabo... why?
